A report on a series
of cognitive interviews that identifies two common mistakes in thinking that the public makes about child abuse prevention, and recommendations on how to overcome them.
This report shares the results from a series
of cognitive interviews with 18 informants and Persistence Trials with 54 informants.
Not exact matches
In five different scenarios, they measured their subjects on a set
of cognitive tasks, and controlled for the formality or casualness
of their clothing, instructing subjects to bring «clothing you would wear to a job
interview» to change into.

The volunteers, a group that took no psychiatric medicine, underwent a battery
of cognitive tests and a psychological
interview, in which a researcher asked about their personal history, including drug and alcohol use and the stressful experiences
of their lives.
Based upon their
interviews, the researchers developed a taxonomy
of 59 experiences organized into seven types, or «domains»:
cognitive, perceptual, affective (i.e. emotions and moods), somatic (relating to the body), conative (i.e. motivation or will), sense
of self and social.
The authors note study limitations include the use
of telephone - based
cognitive assessments rather than in - person
interviews.
Instead
of only using a standard clinical
interview to determine whether individuals met the criteria for a clinical diagnosis
of bipolar disorder, the researchers combined the results from brain imaging,
cognitive testing, and an array
of temperament and behavior measures.
The study stands out among long - term cohort studies for its high retention rate — nearly 95 %
of the original cohort has stayed with the study since it launched in 1972 — and the intimacy
of the data - gathering process, which includes not just
cognitive, psychological, and health assessments, but also
interviews with cohort members» teachers, families, and friends and reviews
of their financial and legal records.
This shift in survey mode likely encouraged an increase in self -
interviews that in prior waves would have been completed by proxy, possibly leading to a change in the calibration
of the self - and proxy -
cognitive measures to dementia status.
