This week, millions of students in classrooms around the world will take part in Hour of Code activities or in similar projects aimed at increasing student exposure to computer science as
part of Computer Science Education Week (CSEdWeek).
Last year the two organisations joined forces to lay on a range of fun - filled IT - related activities for year 5 and 6 pupils as part
of Computer Science Education Week.
Through the meetup Edupreneurs Madri», Sonia Pamplona and Nelson Medinilla, both researchers in the
area of Computer Science Education, proposed the debate «Educational Research without numbers».
This week, as we celebrate the new
rise of computer science education, we shouldn't forget how some these efforts might also offer a glimpse into new models for expanding students» access to industry experts across subject areas.
Fewer than 10 percent of city schools currently offer any
form of computer science education, and only 1 percent of students receive it, according to estimates by the city's Department of Education.
