An even more holistic vision
of the brain is emerging from
connectomics, which seeks to create a wiring diagram
of the entire human brain.
Connectomics not only maps the circuitry
of the links and nodes, the so - called structural connectivity
of the brain, but also the dynamic correlations that arise among regions when circuits are active: the functional connectivity.
Such «Brainbow» color - coding might eventually allow researchers to build precise wiring diagrams
of the brain; it's a field dubbed
connectomics.
