oats — as porridge
oats are much finer so will absorb the liquid and go
creamy instantly, whereas jumbo
oats need to soak for hours)
They make all kinds
of oats, but the
oats that I used are quick - cook
oats which are great to use in overnight oat recipes since they turn out really thick and
creamy (not too chewy).
Creamy, hearty
oats that sit overnight in the fridge with organic flax meal and chia seeds for omega - 3's and a nutty texture, classic gingerbread spices, plus just the teeniest pinch
of real organic blackstrap molasses (a gingerbread MUST - have and great source

1 cup regular cut
oats 2 ripe bananas 2 flax eggs (2 tbl
of flax seed meal mixed with 6 tbl
of water) 1/3 cup
of nut butter (I used
creamy cashew) 2 tablespoons
of coconut sugar 1 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp baking soda Pinch
of sea salt 1 tablespoon
of ground cinnamon 1 tablespoon
of hemp hearts 1 teaspoon
of vanilla extract Vegan chocolate (I shaved a 4 oz bar) but you can also use 1/2 cup
of chocolate chips as well
It also had such a
creamy texture from the
oats, beans, and avocado that just seemed to work together as well as the balance
of flavors.
Anyway, thanks to Prana Bar, I was able to survive until I got home and made this super extra
creamy oats cooked in almond milk and a bit
of soymilk, topped with ice cream non fat plain yogurt and Natural Directions Organic Crunchy Peanut Butter.
I love adding soaked
oats to my smoothies - it just makes the consistency
of my smoothies super
creamy!
I like a little textural contrast so I topped the
