Our
dairy -
free yogurt spoons up 7 live and active cultures, Omega - 3 healthy fats and 5 - 6 grams
of plant - based protein.
Dairy -
free yogurt options at the store have all sorts
of strange and potentially dangerous ingredients (carrageenan, anybody?)
Fat
free kefir is a nice substitution for full or partial fat
dairy products, since it has a creamy consistency, but the tartness
of yogurt.
I've tried a
dairy -
free version
of this recipe, using coconut milk instead
of yogurt and that was very tasty as well.
Trust me, I've tried more than a handful
of dairy -
free yogurts and this one has had the best texture and flavor to date.
My personal favorite way to eat it is in a cup
of vanilla
yogurt and Silk recently came out with a
dairy -
free alternative that's incredibly tasty.
Coconut milk
yogurt can be expensive and full
of additives when you buy it in the store, so I'm super-excited to share this fool - proof method for making your own
dairy -
free yogurt at home in the Instant Pot.
I've made some changes in the last couple years to swap a lot
of my
dairy eating out — i.e. I use plant - based protein powders now & I've been eating
dairy free yogurt most
of the time — and at this point, all that's really left is eating ice cream & cheese.
Enjoy with your favorite grass - fed or
dairy free milk, with coconut milk
yogurt, on top
of a smoothie, or just by itself!
For gluten -
free or a more cohesive stack, use egg replacer, such as Ener - G, flax eggs, or sub in up to 1/4 cup
of dairy -
free yogurt or banana for each egg in the box recipe.

free yogurt (preferably one that's on the thick side, like Greek
yogurt).

FYI, you can also use an organic probiotic bill to and put it into the cashew cream / nut cream / or nut
free hemp (any) seed cream... to to turn it into
yogurt / if you can't buy real Kefir Bacteria (Lactobacilli bacteria)- Its not
dairy but is used to make milk into Kefir and after its used to turn milks into
yogurt, you can strain out the original chunks
of bacteria (which is what we do here in Greece and then put the Kefir in the freezer so you can perpetually re-use it — while waiting for
yogurt to become cheese.
Serve granola in a bowl over fresh fruit (sliced peaches, berries, or banana), you can add in your favorite
dairy free yogurt or a dollop
of coconut cream.
