Although the new leather
dash topper and contrast stitching are nice, there is still a surprising amount
of hard plastic evident on the door
panels and center console.
There's the rippled - pond effect on the headliner (pretty cool), bungee cords on the door
panels (kind
of useless), and, most prominent, that shag - rug toupee on the
dash.
The rest
of the interior is stylish and very well done as well: the grain on the
dash, the waterfall console, the door
panels and hardware, and the controls and buttons are all beautifully executed.
Interior There's also a piano - black package for the interior that includes a backlit black
panel on the passenger side
of the
dash that lights up in the various ambient lighting colors with (you guessed it!)
More hot rod influences can be found in the interior, with the aircraft gauges mounted on top
of the
dash's face (rather than behind it), the light bar and Vintage Air AC controls hidden inside the glovebox, and nine more toggle switches mounted in three
panels above the driver attached to the SO - CAL fab'd six - point roll cage.
The GTS interior is still chock full
of hard, black plastic
panels (some
of which, particularly those around the top
of the
dash, have some fit issues), and there's still a notable amount
of road noise carried into the cabin.
If you have a leaky heater core you will see coolant coming out
of the heating ventilation Air conditioning (HVAC) drain down low on the engine side
of steel
dash panel (right in front
of the front seat passenger).
Inside, the only noteworthy addition is a strip
of ice blue ambient lighting that runs along the top
of the
dash and front door
panels, with a gaudy «Enclave» logo stuck right in the middle.
If you open your drivers door, you will see a
panel on the side
of the
dash.
Volkswagen's new gesture control is included for the largest, 10.1 - inch screen on the
dash, and the instrument
panel is a completely digital, 12.3 - inch display that can be configured to display all sorts
of information like navigation and infotainment.
Also, the performance boost can be activated and deactivated via the
dash - mounted «Active Dynamic
Panel» giving the driver the option
of toning things down when they want.
The
dash top itself was also leather... which made the large plastic

of the company's Uconnect system to provide smartphone app integration, text - to - speech capability for text messages and a more robust voice control interface.
The more spacious cabin tallies with modifications made elsewhere to improve refinement, so there's a new soundproofing
