There's a cast
of decent actors, a script that's at least not embarrassing, and a couple of solidly fun special effects sequences.

of repeating that success come Oscar time.

Stand Up Guys features an A-team

decent screenplay, yet there is some pleasure in watching them perform.

Blu - ray Highlight: There are audio commentaries for five
of the ten episodes with executive producer Daniel Percival and
actors Sullivan Stapleton, Philip Winchester, Amanda Mealing and Liam Cunningham, and although they offer some
decent insight into making the show, it's something that will most likely only interest diehard fans.
«Fifty Shades Darker» is melodramatic garbage
of the highest degree that forces
decent actors like Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan (who look as interested as their contracts obligate them to be) to deliver cringeworthy, soap opera - quality dialogue.

actors are sometimes fun to watch, especially when they stumble upon a halfway
decent line (Isis on Carla's basic level
of love for her son: «I can't keep up with all these parenting trends») or amusingly weird bits

Director Amat Escalante uses artful long takes, nonprofessional
actors, and moments
of abject miserableness — in one terrible - to - watch scene, a character has his genitals lit on fire — to sketch the story
of a
decent Mexican family churned up by their country's corrupt police force.
I got the feeling that the
actors are those kind
of performers who, if they are well - directed, can hand in a
decent performance.

Setting aside the argument that it's never too late to humanize a dangerous man (if, in fact, that's the point the series is trying to make), the caricature
of Donald Trump presented in the series is so oafishly relatable he does little to resemble our very real and very dangerous president (aside from a
decent impression from voice
actor Jeff Bergman).
Despite the presence
of a
decent cast - with real
actors like John Lithgow and Michael Rooker on hand - every character seems bland and forgettable.
