Samsung have enjoyed tremendous success with the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablets with this kind

Not exact matches
The price
of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 is a little steep, at $ 400, but that's mainly because
of the stylus and active
digitizer.
So this is basically an OEM version
of the Netronix 13.3 (flexible E Ink
digitizer sub-400gr i.MX6 Solo Lite Android note taker) that was showcased in Jan
of 2015..?
These include an integrated fingerprint scanner along with an optional active
digitizer, which means one can also use a digital pen instead
of fingers.
What makes the Wacom
digitizer unique is that it supports more than 1,000 levels
of pressure sensitivity.
Chippy and I have both said that we like the idea
of an active
digitizer (disregarding the software hurdles), but we think it would be more useful in a larger device.
Also add that the CL900 and Q550, the devices I would have preferred in order to get into an active
digitizer, are priced on the edge
of my desired price range.
I think the
digitizer is more
of a bragging - right gimmick than something most people use regularly (
of course, some people use it a lot).
It has a Samsung Exynos 4 Quad processor, 1 GB
of RAM, 16/32 GB
of storage, and comes with a active
digitizer pen, which makes it perfect for drawing.
LG is billing the Optimus Vu as a device that could be useful for note - taking, but make no mention
of an active
digitizer screen such as those found on the HTC Flyer and Samsung Galaxy Note.

Digitizer Pen
Undeniably the star
of the Samsung tablet show, the advanced smart pen is based around technology used for the Wacom
digitizer which is comfortably the best tablet for creative types and the first time that pressure - type stylus technology has been brought to a consumer tablet.
If all you want to do is take notes on a capacitive screen with a good wacom
digitizer than there's the Asus EP121, the EA800, and a bunch
of tablets which range in cost from about $ 275 for the former to about $ 1200 for the 121 and for some tablets.
One
of the big hyping factors regarding this new device is the active
digitizer Pen that will replace the capacitive one that shipped with the Surface 1 and 2.
The Surface Pen
digitizer is made out
of polished aluminum for lightness and friction in the hand.
Toshiba and Acer have already rolled out theirs, and now Asus is following suit with a stylus-less version
of the Asus VivoTab Note 8 (M80TA) which is called Asus VivoTab 8 (M81C) and lacks the Wacom
digitizer of the original.
The Asus VivoTab Note 8 was the last
of the fairly similar five 8 - inch Windows 8 tablets to be released, after Dell, Lenovo, Acer, and Toshiba had all launched their versions, but the Asus VivoTab Note 8 had one trick up its integrated sleeve, which was the Wacom
digitizer.
According to Notion Ink, the «Adam comes with an Open Source implementation which converts it into a
digitizer», and further clarifies by saying «Please note, technically Adam's way
of using the screen as touch input for your computers does not make it fall into traditional

One
of the most interesting points on the afore - linked blog post was that the Adam will include a «
digitizer» and be able to work as a wireless input device for other computers.
The 10.8 - inch ClearType screen is
of very high quality and has a resolution
of 1920 x 1280 with a 3:2 aspect ratio (same screen ratio as Surface Pro 3), 10 point multi-touch, and
digitizer support with specific support for the Surface Pen
digitizer in particular.
But the screen itself is
of a very low quality, and this is made worse because the touch
digitizer is plainly visible on top
of it.
Then there's the ThinkPad Tablet which seems to combine functions
of the Transformer with the Flyer by offering a dockable folio with full keyboard and mouse, which folds down like a netbook, as well as an active
digitizer for digital inking and notetaking.
A 1280 x 800 resolution (rather low) 10.1 inch display makes up the front but includes a layer
of active
digitizer on top
of the touchscreen that enables the tablet to respond to stylus inputs.
However,
of the 2 tablets, the T23A CULV comes with a pen input while for the T23X CULV iTablets, there is an optional
digitizer pen input and touch input.
Touchscreen technology too varies and is inclusive
of active
digitizers as well as capacitive screens capable
of accepting multitouch responses.
Sounds kind
of lame; I initially had great hopes for the Archos 9 when it came out last year, but at this point, it should really have a capacitive screen with an active
digitizer if it wants to succeed with Windows 7 on board.
If they could make a fully functional slate in the form factor
of the BYD Snaptop prototype with longer batttery life, a full OS and that sweet detachable bluetooth keyboard, PLUS a
digitizer pen... that would be visionary.
The touchscreen will be devoid
of any backlight and will be as much receptive to stylus input with a
digitizer as it will be to finger presses.
The front glass, GlowLight LEDs, and
digitizer are fused together, so breaking any
of these parts will require replacement
of the entire display assembly.
As if full - size SD Card and USB ports - a combination so far only found on the Toshiba Thrive - isn't enough to sway you, another big differentiator
of the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet is its display's support for the Ntrig active pen
digitizer.
Of course, if it's not an OQO slider form factor, I'd still require a stowable active
digitizer pen or a thumb bezel mouse.
So it looks like the Surface Pro 3 will still be the king
of tablets with advanced
digitizer for another year.
The capacitive
digitizer, which supports up to 10 fingers
of input, remained highly responsive throughout our use.
It features a 13.3 - inch WXGA widescreen display with the option
of a dual
digitizer - in addition to finger input, users can write and edit notes with a stylus.
Although we are slowly seeing a trend towards more tablets being sold with a stylus or proper
digitizer, the latest
of which are the 8 - inch and 10.1 - inch Toshiba Encore 2 Write tablets.
Instead
of using an active stylus» built - in
digitizer, DirectStylus employs the tablet's processor and a touch sensor to differentiate between a pen and finger for a smooth writing experience.

The name may not be very catching, but the specs are, being the only 8 - inch Windows 10 tablet on the market with the combined specs
of 2048 x 1536 resolution, up to 4 GB
of RAM, Intel Atom x5 - Z8500 processor, solid Gorilla Glass 4,
digitizer support, and good specs otherwise too.
I do agree that the Surface 3 is unique and that nothing directly compares to it but if you're looking at the entry - level model
of the Surface 3 and are not interested in the
digitizer then the Yoga Tablet 2 is the better value product.
