The William H. Neukom Fellows Research Chair in Diversity and Law, established in 2014, is dedicated to the
values of diversity in the legal profession, the creation of communities of equity and opportunity, and the provision of equal justice through law.
We often talk of the challenges and obstacles that stand in the
way of diversity in the legal profession, so it is but it is important to also look at the achievements and positive trends to inform and inspire future progress within the industry.
Most practising lawyers will recognise the reasons Lord Neuberger identified for working against the continuing lack
of diversity in the legal professions.
There is lots of work to do in addressing the lack
of diversity in the legal profession, and mentoring is not the only solution.
