These are not my favorite piece
of training equipment (most
dogs find them aversive), but this is one
of the
few times when the head halter may still have a place in positive reinforcement training, because it does give you control over the
dog's head in a way that a front - clip control
harness does not.
Following surgery owners must use a
harness rather than a neck collar for leash walks, but within a
few days
of the procedure
dogs and owners barely remember that heart problems existed.
