But unlike all
farmed meat, which requires the creation and maintenance
of animals,
dogs are practically begging to be eaten.

of dogs from a terrible fate at a South Korean
dog meat farm, which has now been closed down after the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.

of dogs living without daylight or fresh air.

The
dogs on this
farm include breeds
of all kinds such as cocker spaniels, English spaniels, beagles and Pyrenees as well as the more commonly found on
meat farms, like mastiffs and Jindos.
This is the sixth
dog meat farm closure managed by HSI since January 2015 as part

dog meat trade.

dogs that were saved from a
meat farm in South Korea are up for adoption as
of Friday at San Diego Humane Society's (SDHS) main campus on 5500 Gaines Street.
I would be very interested in trying raw (and may do it when my parents start their
farm and I can be 100 % sure

meat), but it's so difficult to get it balanced for the smaller

The
farm in Yesan is a typical
dog meat farm with row upon row
of bored, frustrated, frightened
dogs in barren metal cages, many with injuries and deep pressure sores.

dog meat campaigner, said: «With every
dog meat farm we close, we are not only saving the lives
of these poor, terrified
dogs caught up in this cruel trade, but we are also presenting a successful blueprint for change that we hope the government will follow.
HSI rescued 23
dogs from a
dog meat farm in South Korea and helped their former owner transition to a more humane way
of making a living.
At each
dog meat farm closure, HSI has a veterinarian test for the presence
of the H3N2, or
dog flu, virus at the time the
dogs receive their rabies, DHPP, and corona virus vaccines.
The rescues and
farm closures are part
of HSI's broader strategy that aims to encourage the South Korean government to end the cruel
dog meat industry.
This is the ninth
dog meat farm that Humane Society International has permanently closed since 2014, rescuing and rehoming nearly 1,000
dogs by working in cooperation with
dog meat farmers keen to get out
of the trade.
An international online petition campaign at has been launched in 10 languages world wide to stop the consumption
of dog meat, where some groups estimate more than 2 million
dogs are raised and killed for food at
dog farms in South Korea every year.

of enormous concern for many millions
of British people, and HSI's stories
of farms closed and
dogs rescued give cause for optimism that the suffering will stop.

of joining HSI's rescue team in South Korea at the end

of a horror story, a dreadful place where 200 beautiful
