Animal translocation for conservation: performance
of dormice in relation to release methods, origin, and season
These projects include work to protect water voles in the South West of England from habitat loss and predation by the American Mink; work to safeguard the future
of dormice in Cheshire and the creation of wildlife corridors benefitting birds, mammals and amphibians in North Wales.
There are historic records
of dormice in the area but none had been seen for a number of years.
Audrey Watson, BASC's Green Shoots North Wales officer, said: «I had checked the boxes in the summer and was disappointed not to find any evidence
of dormice.
