of dressy event you can think of season is upon us!
Side note: this is a great piece to have on hand for lots
of dressy events, but more on that to come in another post!)

A few months ago, I had to attend an
event that required me to trade in my daily attire
of my beloved, stretchy, comfy yoga pants, for a pair
of stiff,
dressy - yet - classy, blue jeans.
Since then, I've expanded with additional shirts, some denim leggings and a couple
of dressier dresses that I've needed for special
events.
There are a wide variety
of unique clothes and accessories so you're bound to find something that fits you're style whether it be for a
dressy event or a casual weekend.
I wanted to include a
dressier fourth
of July outfit option in case some
of us have a tad more formal
event to attend.
The first look I have put together consists
of items that I think would be great for a pool party or more
dressy event.
I love the idea
of mixing
dressy and casual pieces, but if you're planning for a more formal
event, then you can't go wrong with this sparkly dress.
This way I get the maximum use
of my Cluse watch, I can use the black leather straps during daytime and change to gold ones for a night out or a more
dressier event.
Some
of those may be parties that call for a fun, festive Christmas outfit, or a holiday
event or concert that calls for a more elegant,
dressy outfit.
I have a pair
of comfort sandals with a spot
of bling that see me thru every
dressy event in great style but keep my feet happy.
Even if you'll be wearing flats or wedges most
of the time, if you get the chance to sit it on a big meeting hit or attend a work
event, you want to be ready with
dressier shoes.
Made
of lightweight cotton fabric, this dress makes a great garment for an outdoor
event that can transition from casual to
dressy.
For example, I don't go out a lot at night or need
dressy clothes, other than the occasional work
event or wedding, so it is more important for me to have pieces that I can dress up for nighttime instead
of having lots
of separate pieces.
This might be a random section, but an
event is always something different to everyone... whether it's a red carpet or a friends birthday party... a lot
of people think that point toe pumps can only be worn to be
dressy, but you can wear them to «dress up» and be fun too!
A
dressy jumpsuit is also a great option for a semi-formal
event as it won't show a lot
of skin, while making you look elegant.
And,
of course, I'd wear it to a gala or
dressy event.
In fact, so many
of the slides this season are
dressy, where you can truly wear them out at night and to
dressier events.
My husband and I haven't gone to a «grown - ups only»
event like this in years, so I'm pretty proud
of myself for having aced the dress code (
dressy top, jeans) without the benefit
of recent experience.
So many
of the
events and parties are less
dressy and this is the perfect look for a more casual
event!
I like to do the latter sometimes just to make formal or
dressy outfits more fun and less stiff, but,
of course, it depends on the
event I am going to.
B&J is a well - organized, somewhat pricey shop on 7th Avenue with a nice selection
of fabrics for
dressy events, and lots
of knowledgeable help.
It's
dressy enough to wear for all kinds
of events, but it's not a «Hey!
I'd like to wear the pants tonight to a
dressy - casual
event and poncho tomorrow but am leery
of cutting the tags yet.
I used to go to a lot
of evening,
dressy events.
Lastly, pack some
dressier clothes in case you attend a formal
event while visiting one
of your cruise destinations.
