Also, if you happen to have fresh or frozen elderberries on hand, double the quantity
of dried elderberries listed in the recipe.

I made 3 quarts, and let it sit for 3 days, and then added flavoring: 1 was 1/3 c wild frozen blueberries, and maybe 1 T
of elderberries (
dried, from the herbs section
of my natural food store), 1 was 1/3 c pummelo, about 1/4
dried hibiscus, and about 1/4
dried pink baby roses, and 1 was 1/3 c
dried lavender.
This one can be made in a couple
of days, but the
dried elderberries needed for the recipe are often out
of stock once cold and flu season hits.
If illness strikes without
dried elderberries on hand, some stores carry good natural brands
of elderberry tea like this one as well as ready made
elderberry syrup.
Most
of the time, I get my
elderberries dried from Mountain Rose Herbs or my local food co-op.
At this time
of year, we only have
dried elderberries available, so this recipe will use them.
