Prepare quinoa: rinse 3/4 of a
cup of dry quinoa seed under several changes of water.
* If you don't have time to soak the quinoa, you will need more broth to cook the quinoa - usually about double the
amount of dry quinoa.
So I used a 1/4 cup
of dry quinoa for 1 person and I guess that was a good amount as it wasn't too much or too little.
Cook 1 cup
of dry quinoa in 2 cups of water for 15 minutes (follow package instructions) Drain and set aside to cool.
3 cups of cooked and cooled quinoa (follow directions on the package — one cup
of dried quinoa makes approximately 3 cups cooked)
(I just made my quinoa the regular way — I had the time and a huge
bag of dry quinoa in the pantry.)
I understand that I need to cook the quinoa before as directed on the package but I don't know how
much of the dry quinoa to start with... If this recipe calls for 3 cups cooked quinoa do you have an estimate of how many cups uncooked quinoa that would be?
I would say that 1 cup
of dry quinoa yielded a bit too much cooked quinoa... I used most, but kept out about 3/4 of a cup because I was worried the quinoa would completely take over the filling!
Dried quinoa is 64 % carbohydrate, i.e.
100g of dried quinoa, once cooked, will contribute 64g of carbohydrate to a meal.
To cook quinoa: Place a teaspoon of olive oil in a saucepan over medium low heat and add ⅙
cup of dry quinoa, stir until dry quinoa is slightly toasted ~ 1 minute
You will need about 1 1/2 cups
of dry quinoa to make 3 cups cooked.

of dry quinoa (white or multi-colored) 1 — 15 oz.

Is it 2 cups

I had tons of quinoa leftover - I used 2 cups
of dry quinoa, and ended up with perhaps 6 cups cooked!
They are also relevant to using one cup
of dry quinoa, 1/4 cup of cilantro, and honey.
You'll need only a 1/2 cup
of dried quinoa.
The recipe calls for 3/4 cup of dry green lentils and 1/4 cup
of dry quinoa.
For quinoa, I find a scant 1/3 cup
of dry quinoa makes 1 cup cooked, so about 1.5 cups of dry quinoa will make plenty for a week);
