Thanks to the courage
of other moms, I knew ahead
of time that pregnancy after a miscarriage would be scary, that just because

of baby milk at the corner store in an unfamiliar town.

Now that I think about it, I have only found one peds doc who was an expert on
breastfeeding and I think that was only b / c she was, herself, a waterbirth and
breastfeeding advocate, having had waterbirths and nursed each
of her children past the age
of one (not an
easy task when you're an Army doctor and deployable).
Going to these meetings, the fact a Leader was always available by phone and having written material that was
easy to find and understand, were the way I got help and support during my first experience
of breastfeeding as a teen mother.
From
easy IV and epidural access to the convenience
of shoulder snaps for
breastfeeding and skin to skin bonding, this is a must - have for every mom - to - be.
It is not
easy to wean a baby from
breastfeeding though, and may require a lot
of time depending on how your baby adjusts to the change.

I'm 22 years
of age, and from the moment I found out I was pregnant (at 16 wks) I knew I wanted to
breastfeed for the following reasons:
easier once established, cheaper, lose pregnancy weight quicker, benefits for baby and benefits for myself and also my mother
breastfed me and my 2 siblings.
A nursing bra is specifically made to allow
easy, discreet access to your breasts for
breastfeeding or pumping; to be somewhat flexible in sizing to accommodate changes in breast and rib cage size during pregnancy and
breastfeeding; and to support the extra weight
of a pregnant or lactating breast.
It is also
easy to visualize how an infant with a bubble palate would have difficulty

This was not an
easy decision, but after two months
of trying

of devices and different techniques, a visit to two different
breastfeeding clinics and consultations with two different lactation consultants, I was ready to accept that exclusive pumping would be the way my baby would be fed.
There are a lot
of people who make it seem like
breastfeeding is the
easiest, most natural thing in the world.
Regardless
of how wonderful it can turn out to be,
breastfeeding is by no means
easy, despite the many amazing benefits — health benefits for baby and mom, losing that baby weight without dieting, bonding, etc..
your breasts are engorged and hard as a rock right before
breastfeeding, so you want to express a little bit
of breast milk to soften them and make it
easier for your baby to latch on
Breastfeeding your baby is the
easiest option for food on the go because there's no need to lug around a supply
of bottles, nipples, or formula.
If you are putting together a gift for a new mom, consider adding a couple
of other
breastfeeding essentials that will make her life
easier and her
breastfeeding journey more comfortable.
Since there are too many brands
of baby bottles in the market today and most
of them promise a lot
of great things that can make
breastfeeding easier, how would you know that you are indeed picking the best one?

breastfeeding easier and more discreet.
In my experience (and those
of several other moms I have talked too),
breastfeeding is definitely NOT awesome for the first few weeks, but after that, it does become awesome, or at least
easier and more convenient.
If I had smaller boobs, I probably wouldn't need to do this, but for most
of us who are
breastfeeding, this trick makes
breastfeeding and babywearing a lot
easier.
