I am pretty guilty
of eating on the run and then I have been getting frustrated with my girls for not sitting down until I realized what a bad example I was setting.
In a nutshell, what we see here is the very common occurrence
of eating on the run in the U.S..

We all know we should
eat more green foods, but after a few variations
on the same salad, juice or smoothie, it's easy to
run out
of ideas that excite our taste buds.
Needless to say, I was
running Eat Drink Shrink, staying up all hours
of the night to organize everything, ultimately hanging
on by a thread..
When you're in a rush (like, every morning), do you sometimes
run out the door, get
on the bus or hop into your car and only then, remember that you've forgotten to
eat breakfast; the meal that you've always heard is the most important meal
of the day?
Pulling them out
of the oven, too hot to handle, spreading butter
on them and haveing it
run into my hand, almost burning my mouth and a hurried to
eat the delicious little bundle
of goodness........
I
ran across this recipe for Herb - Rubbed Chicken with Creamy Orzo
on Annie's
Eats a few years ago and have been making variations
of it ever since.
I get tired
of eating gels
on really long
runs.
I
ran out
of pasta and
ate the left over sauce
on some brown rice, chickpeas and green peas.
I just started
running, I've been trying to
eat low - carb but because I don't like to
eat a lot
of mean or dairy it's been really trying
on my energy.

We are currently
on a mission
of fridge clean - up so my
eats for the past couple days look something like these: Breakfast / post WO meal Today I only had baked sweet potato as my breakfast since we
ran out
of eggs.
This is great, I've been trying to
eat healthy and fell in love with quinoa, but as you said it's not easy to get it cooked the same as delis and resturants, I gave up and bought a rice cooker with the intent for settling
on brown rice recipes, it cooks my rice perfect everytime.I'm
running out to whole foods now excited that I can get 4 varieties or more
of organic quinoa.
But it's more than appropriate for those mornings when you've
run out
of time at home to
eat and so find yourself sitting at your desk, checking your morning emails while trying not to spill milk
on your keyboard.
I'm not a huge fan
of making full -
on - fat cookies for my kids / friends but there was just something calling me to make these — plus this is why I
run so much — so I can
eat.
I
ran a column
of ramen recipes
on my dorm website and
ate ramen just about every day.
(
Of course, when I have a longer
run scheduled
on the weekend, I'll
eat more before heading out the door... but I'll touch
on that in a future post.
I agree with this comment, as well as with the others
on industrial agriculture, though I do want to mention that there are small town, local and organic farmers out there who treat animals and the environment well — while I do not support the dairy or egg industry, I love to see our friend Bob's hens
running around wild, pecking at bugs, etc. and we will
eat those eggs, which are seasonal because hens naturally lay more during certain times
of the year.
This recipe is a rather special one because I specifically created it for my very first cooking workshop that is happening in March with one
of my favorite bloggers / people
on earth (who by the way, unabashedly
ate gummy egg free sweet potato gnocchi with me during one
of our trial
runs).
I
eat miso by the spoonful after long
runs when my body is screaming for salt; I gained 10 pounds in college when I began a habit
of stress -
eating a particular brand
of hempseed - packed granola; and my doctor literally told me to «cut back»
on cruciferous vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower a few years ago (long story).
For example, there is only one curry recipe
on here, despite the fact that we
eat curry at least once a week — though to be fair, a large portion
of the curry consumed is from Bs favorite curry house down the road,
run by a somewhat grumpy manager named Harry who rarely smiles and is infamous for selling beer two years past it's used by date.
These are the six bar snacks we want to
eat on repeat until the end
of time (or at least until the beer
runs out).
Eating on the
run, drive - thru, protein bars, and another cup
of...
I've never been one who can just
eat a granola bar
on the
run, so I am a huge fan
of quick, healthy breakfasts that fill me up, like pancakes, breakfast stews, etc..
Keep in mind, the cerebrum keeps
running off glucose so
on the off chance that you need to remain centered for the duration
of the day,
eat a huge water - thick natural product supper for breakfast!
And while making these small, delicious truffles it felt like the spirit
of love
ran from the apartment into the truffles and made them magical;) Seriously, just like the movie «como agua para chocolate» (like water for chocolate)-- where all the food she makes absorbs her tears, feelings and mood which are passed
on into the people who
eat it.
That means that we're often
on the
run, so they
eat a lot
of protein bars.
I also loved the emphasis
on Australian businesses in this show — sure, we saw Costco, but the majority
of businesses there with stalls had Australian roots There was a lot
of eating and coffee facilities (despite not knowing about them earlier) and it was well organised, with majority
of events
running on time!
Yeah, I
ran several miles today and was almost gonna
eat my arm (if only it were vegan), but I'm glad I waited because this was totally the belle
of the ball (the ball
on my tastebuds).
She
runs at least 80 miles a week,
eats 12 pounds
of fruit a day with some veggies and nuts
on the weekend, and has
run every day for more than 1,000 days in a row.
