Could this investment show promise for advancing the cause
of eInk reader technology?
Adding touchscreen layer on top
of eInk really ruins the image clarity.
Personally I'm a huge eReader fan and gadget geek as you can see from my pile
of eInk hardware.
The problem was that second screen always degraded the quality
of the eink, making it appear less crisp.
Rumors indicate Amazon may be working on something similar for its Kindle lineup
of eInk eReaders.
The refresh rate
of eink devices is fairly slow.
This is really exciting to me because I think it presents a clear way forward for the color eink screens and I would expect that the next generation
of eink readers would all incorporate this type of screen including the Kindle and the nook.
Have you grown accustomed to the Collections organization capability

As I've mentioned several times in recent months, I expected Amazon to step up this fall with a serious refresh
of the eInk Kindles, based on comments by executives during the year.
Even if gamers would forgo color, the refresh rate
of eInk is just TOOOOOOO SLOOOOOOW.
The fact that there is an extra layer on top
of the eInk (and it's not 100 % transparent) means that light goes through that transparent layer twice (i guess the refraction when changing materials factors in too) and gets degraded.
The power consumption
of an eInk display is so small you can go for days without having recharge your eInk reader.
