You students of yoga have an idea of how much in the way
of even yoga posture and breathing you can learn in 6 1/2 hours, let alone all the rest of it.

One hour
of yoga increases levels
of a neurotransmitter called GABA, which inhibits stress responses in the body and is

of course, when your agenda includes everything from
yoga class to business meetings to «dress cocktail»
evening events.

Within the last two years I have found that a twenty - minute session
of hatha (physical)
yoga exercises, in the morning or
evening, is remarkably enlivening.
Social media creates a world
of constant comparisons, we're no longer just comparing ourselves with our friends and the people around us but we're now comparing ourselves with hundreds or
even thousands
of total strangers — some
of whom make a career out
of the things we can be jealous
of, whether that's a dream job, a super models abs or a
yoga teachers handstands.
There will be lots
of yoga, exercise, workshops, talks, business panels and
even sound healing workshops over the next year, and best
of all they'll all be followed a delicious Mae deli feast with beautiful bowls
of vibrant salads, organic cold pressed juices and
of course lots
of sweet treats!
Consistent routines are hard for me, but I am constantly checking in to make sure I don't get overwhelmed by stress,
even if that means five minutes
of yoga in the middle
of the day.
Waking up fairly early, knowing I'm going to see light from sunrise to sunset, a challenging class
of yoga, cycle to brunch and finding a spot in the sun somewhere outside, walking through a new part
of London, meeting friends in the
evening for a catch up, cooking a new dish back home and then a cup
of fennel tea before bed.
Also, to be
even more fair, I'm sick right now, so when I say «I got dressed» I mean that I got out
of the shower and put on a whole different pair
of yoga pants.
First
of all, I teach an early morning BODYATTACK class to an energetic group, then get to wrap up work and sometimes
even fit in a session
of yoga.
I am a BIG fan
of yoga — do it daily — and totally can feel the benefits
of even just doing one pose.
Even if I am stuffed to the brim, and my
yoga pants are hugging tightly around the waist, I will still find room for a generous serving
of dessert.

Yoga, which has literally saved the lives
of former wrestlers.
I have tried so many things and do many
of the things you do to calm my nervous system (i.e. meditate,
yoga, breath work...), but what I found most helpful in terms
of easing an anxiety attack is to use grounding techniques, like moving awareness to my feet or anywhere in my body that feels calm,
even if it's just a toe — and then adding self soothing talk
of «I'm safe» or anything positive for that matter.
