The franchise motif of acknowledging the hurt feelings
of fairytale villains and equally unappreciated characters is continued.
Charming blames Shrek (Mike Myers) for his plight and vows revenge on Shrek and Fiona (Cameron Diaz) by recruiting
all of the fairytale villains (Rumpelstiltskin, Captain Hook, etc.) to unite, storm the castle and take the «happily ever after» that is rightfully theirs.

fairytale villain - laden attack.
So what looked like it may be a film that deconstructs the very idea
of villains, simply shifts the focus elsewhere and ultimately follows somewhat
of a formulaic Disney -
fairytale path.
The game's soundtrack, on par with its predecessors, sounds right out
of a
fairytale, with a range
of charming, adventurous tunes, and the voice acting is stellar as usual, particularly the
villain and the narrator.
