This corner
of the family room is now super functional and happens to look great, which is kind of what I'm all about when designing a space, as you might already know.
Yesterday I showed you an outdated built - in bookcase in a little recessed corner
of my family room.
In this birds eye view of the completed makeover, you can get a sense of the space, but what you can't see is the part of the foyer that extends back into the entry
of our family room, hence the L shape.
The rear of the house features ample porches and a wall of windows at the rear
of the family room, breakfast room, and master suite.
As you enter the Stonegate, you look over the open railings of the stairway and all the way through the windows on the rear
of the family room.
Wine Room Design: This room right off
of our family room is completely surrounded by windows and a glass door.
I have a lot more holiday decor to share, including the rest

, but last week I found the top
of my family room built - ins to be looking a bit sparse.

of the family room glow with Benjamin Moore's jewel - toned Ray of Light, a color that celebrates summer in the warm season, yet — especially when the limestone fireplace is lit — feels cozy in winter.
I just completed our 2nd bathroom (off
of our family room) in blacks, whites, creams... and I think I'm going to add the splash of pink... so sweet.

The blue
of the family room's slim - lined TV console is nicely reiterated in the custom - framed botanical prints hugging the edges of the tall, vaulted ceiling.
From the pictures, I like the warmth
of the family room walls.
I have slipcovers on
all of our family room furniture.
Wall lights can add to the design
of a family room and let the homeowner choose between using an overhead light for bright light or the wall lights for a little bit of light while the family is watching a movie.
And this little corner
of our family room got a touch of the whimsy with this decorative box from HomeGoods and a new pillow that has such a sweet Santa on it...
My parents house was beautiful and I have so many wonderful memories of the house I grew up in... we had a dutch door off
of the family room that went out to the back porch and back yard.
I love the transformation

Shiplap siding and a vaulted ceiling highlight the cottage charm

We have a family room with 9ft ceilings with a master suite on top
of the family room w / vaulted ceilings.
These would fix the mysterious maroon carpet cutout in the middle
of our family room floor!
I «m glad you all liked our DIY book page art, hanging in that little corner
of our family room!
So, while it looks prettier, I still don't know what to do with the wood burning stove that's sitting ON the hearth in the corner
of my family room.
Till then, it's part
of the family room decor, LOL.
Then we used it horizontally on the hallway walls and one
of the family room walls.
I have been looking on your house tour to find more pictures with different angles
of your family room to see how you did the wall facing the couch.
At the far end
of the family room, blend - into - the - wall white storage cabinets offer function without adding visual weight for a bright, airy space.
I made a cute linen cover for the wire kennels that make them look a little nicer in the corner
of the family room.
As I can tell from the pictures, you kept it in a dark corner
of your family room where it did not get the right light.
I am in the middle
of a family room redo - I would use that great basket in the middle of my new coffee table to gather all the table top clutter.
