I'm not too big
of a fan of the original film, and I wasn't too big a fan of director Jim Mickle's previous film Stake Land, but with this remake he brought some American gothic to the idea of a family isolating themselves because of their religious beliefs.
Still, only completists and the most passionate
of fans of the original film and its characters will probably wish to add this to their Disney DVD collections.

As viewers who went to see the
film this weekend noticed, one scene looked extremely familiar to
fans of Krasinski's
original breakout role
of Jim Halpert on The Office.
A Good Woman - the
original title
of Lady Windermere's

filming Wilde.
Harvey and his staff also programmed
original and uncut versions

of the «director's cut» had currency beyond the most hardcore
of film fans.

film was entertaining, but as a die - hard
fan of the
original, I really think they should stop milking the franchise.
And although Hurwitz and Schlossberg have admittedly peppered the proceedings with a handful
of hilarious gags (eg Stifler finally gets his revenge on Finch for sleeping with his mother), American Reunion, saddled with a hopelessly sentimental third act, ultimately establishes itself as an overlong and underdeveloped sequel that could only be loved by hardcore
fans of the
original film.
With the
fan expectations, the iconic nature
of the
original material, and the development hell that lasted more than a decade, the
film just had too much going against it.
This $ 40 million
fan film lacks the (relatively) elaborate set - up
of the
original.
I'm an
original Star Trek series (you know, Kirk, Spock)
fan myself, but I can honestly say that this is not only one
of the best Star Trek
films ever, but this may be one
of the best Sci - fi movies ever.

By the way, for
fans of the
original film who want to know who plays whom, Derek Jacoby has the Sir John Gielgud role; Penelope Cruz is the missionary played by Ingrid Bergman; Josh Gad is the shady secretary originally played by Anthony Perkins (totally different vibe, but equally good); and Judi Dench is the Princess Dragomiroff, originally played by Wendy Hiller.
Anyway, the entire purpose
of Zoolander 2 — and any comedy sequel made more than 10 years after the
original, and comedy sequels in general — is to facilitate the repetition
of jokes from the
original film among
fans who prefer to communicate their thoughts and feelings in movie - quote form, so reference away, referencers.
Said Focus World touting the feature:» Focus World acquired writer / director Julia Ducournau's Raw out

fans and art - house audiences will absolutely love.»
Director J.J. Abrams is clearly a
fan of the
original films; this shines through in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
At the same time, he reminds us, the
film also features plenty
of familiar elements for

original trilogy.
If the plan comes off,
fans of the
original films and J. R. R Tolkien will be very pleased with the news.

Running at just 30 seconds long, the Scarlett Johansson led Ghost in the Shell continues to visually amaze for
fans of the
original films with it's near frame for frame replication until we remember that Johansson is white and the Ghost in the Shell live - action remake is an inherent example
of Hollywood's worst habits
of whitewashing.
When it works, it works well enough, but it's doubtful that the many hardcore
fans of the
original Mike Nichols
film will out this quasi-sequel next the their copy
of The Graduate in their video libraries.
It's a sit down event
film that the family gathers for so now our
original fans are all grown up and have kids
of their own.
Audiences have come to expect a fair share
of massive brass for important themes in Star Wars, but these subtle chords, combined with a sequence
of Rey's day - to - day activities, marked the first moment in the
film that showed
fans that this
film would give us incredible new characters that would get as close to our hearts as characters from the
original films.
Suffice to say that many
of the
original film's themes are echoed, and it's to the credit
of screenwriters Hampton Fancher and Michael Green that they delve deeper into this world without giving concrete answers to mysteries that
fans have argued about for decades.
Definitely worth the watch if you're a
fan of the
original film and the other Netflix series.
And for that, the
film succeeds, flaws an all, and
fans of the
original should not be disappointed.

of the
original film and audiences here will recognize some
of the elements from that James Cameron

If you are a
