The incandescent light
bulb was a vacuum - filled glass globe in which an electric current heated a resistive thin strip
of material (called a
filament) until it glowed, producing light.

filament of a
bulb.
This is primarily because light
bulb filaments must be extremely hot — thousands
of degrees Celsius — in order to glow in the visible range and micro-scale metal wires can not withstand such temperatures.
«In a regular light
bulb, the
filament is a long and curly piece
of tungsten wire.
This is important as it is a more efficient way
of producing light than conventional light
bulbs, whose glow relies on heating tungsten
filaments to at least 3,100 degrees Fahrenheit.

bulbs as well as LEDs, CFLs and halogens, a type

of these
bulbs is better focusing - light is simply less spread out when the
filament is thinner?
@DucatiKiller, a thinner
filament will run hotter, producing more
of its light in the visible range, making for a more efficient
bulb.
Incandescent
bulbs have a
filament which has much lower resistance when cold than when it's been on for a fraction
of a second.
Because there is no brittle
filament inside a xenon HID
bulb to break or burn out, the head lamps typically last up to three times longer than halogen head lamps (3000 hours versus 1000 hours
of continuous operation, which is equivalent to 5 to 10 years
of normal driving)

bulb have same spectrum
of sunlight is it's not easily possible, so a «powerful energy visible light» requires temperature
of a
filament of around 6000 K, the incandescent light
bulbs filament just over 3000 K and infrared light
bulbs around 2500 K or lower.
Re: Myrrh says (March 2, 6:42 pm): «So, if as Ira says «the
filament of the incandescent light
bulb is heated to temperatures similar to the Sun's surface», and we know such a lightbulb gives most
of its energy in Heat and not Light, in Thermal IR, 95 %, and only a small amount in Visible, only 5 %, then what is really «the most» energy given off by the Sun?»
