But redeeming miles for flights isn't the only way to take advantage

For this example, I'm going to focus on United Airlines — a partner
of Chase's Ultimate
Rewards program — and the way that its MileagePlus
frequent flyer program works.
Generally, these kinds
of rewards cards are tied to
frequent flyer programs and the only way to rack up
rewards is to spend money with a particular airline.
Fantastic
rewards rates
of up to 5.2 % and good perks for
frequent flyers put this card in a league
of its own.
But if you are the kind
of person who dreams
of business and first class travel, or someone who occasionally has to book an expensive flight with little advanced notice, then it might be worth it for you to play the travel
rewards game with
frequent flyer miles and hotel points.
While co-branded airline credit cards offer special benefits to
frequent flyers of one specific airline, general travel
rewards cards can offer more flexibility in redeeming award flights and other travel bookings.
For most
of the partners, cardholders can transfer a Membership
Reward (MR) point at a 1:1 ratio to the ensuing
frequent flyer or hotel loyalty program to use in an award booking or stay.
So much so, that whether it comes in the form
of cash back on credit card purchases,
frequent flyer miles or special offers, many companies
reward their clients with special perks in appreciation.
But if you are the kind
of person who dreams
of business and first class travel, or someone who occasionally has to book an expensive flight with little advanced notice, then it might be worth it for you to play the travel
rewards game with

Again, the next step is to subtract the value

frequent flyer miles or hotel points that you could have received by paying for your flight or hotel room with a card instead

The flag carrier
of Mexico is not a very popular airline for North American
