There were porcelain lamps in the shape
of ginger jars, round and Oriental, and with none of the usual dust on the bulbs, because it was Jocelyn's house.
I've never been a fan
of ginger jars, but the photo of that wonderful wood cabinet filled with ironstone and topped with blue & white ginger jars... LOVE!
This is one of the first kitchens I saw with a collection
of ginger jars, and it really spoke to me.
I would love to use that in a small powder room that I have but I think I'll have to stick with a few photos
of ginger jars instead.
Think
of a ginger jar and what comes to mind is likely that always - classic blue - and - white chinoiserie.
Not exact matches
I did use a can
of light coconut milk to replace the water (I halved the recipe so used only the coconut milk) and both the
ginger and jalapeño were also from a
jar.
Take some
ginger peels (peel some
of the
ginger for this or use peels from a different recipe) and let them sit in a
jar with a bit
of water on your counter for two or three days (give them a shake or vigorous swirl when you think
of it) until they're a bit fizzy and sour - smelling.

This recipe is a tweaked version
of my mums cake, not that it needed tweaking but I had a
jar of molasses I needed to use up and molasses goes well in
ginger cake, makes it that little bit stickier.
I also added some stem
ginger and a bit
of juice from the
jar.
This easy

This winter spiced pecan and almond butter is like Christmas in a
jar, jam packed with the festive flavours
of rich pecans and creamy almonds spiced with aromatic spices like warming
ginger, sweet cinnamon and wintery nutmeg.
In a small mason
jar shake together coconut aminos, honey,
ginger and a pinch
of red pepper flakes until combined.

of coconut oil 1 tbsp fresh, minced

The
jars in my pantry are full
of herbs like dried
ginger, licorice, and dandelion; spices such as cinnamon, star anise, and pepper; and assorted items including poppy seeds, dried orange peel, and whole stevia leaf.
I love it when «Pumpkin Spice» mix is available at the grocery store, as it makes this recipe as fast as possible, but if you can't locate a pre-made
jar, simply make your own by using a heaping 1/4 teaspoon
of ground cinnamon, an 1/8 teaspoon
of ground
ginger, and a pinch
of ground nutmeg to replace the 1/2 teaspoon called for in this recipe.
Or go in another direction and just use the fruit (adding a bit more), a generous drizzle
of the syrup from a
jar of preserved
ginger, and some extra crushed nuts to keep the pastry from getting a soggy bottom.

of gold pumpkins gives a little bling to the sideboard when paired with my blue and white
ginger jar and thrift store find willow ware plates.
