In some cases, the benefits
of incorporating the
global perspective will be clear; in other cases, parsimony would perhaps continue to dictate emphasizing more proximate factors, but seeing things in context might argue for adding in less proximate effects in order to enhance our
consciousness of global interdependence itself.
