An excellent way to add more plant based protein to your diet is by eating 2 - 4 Tablespoons
of Golden Flax seed every day.
WHOLE & GROUND FLAX SEED I keep a bag
of golden flax seeds in the fridge, and grind up a small jarful at a time (in my coffee grinder), which I also keep in the fridge.
So I soaked those in hot water for a couple of hours, then blended them and the soaking water with a small shallot, the white balsamic, about 1/2 tbs of herbs de provence, 1 tsp of lemon zest, 2 tsp
of golden flax seeds, the tbs of lemon juice, and two tbs each of nutritional yeast and dijon mustard.
I ended up adding a little date paste and a 1/2 tsp
of golden flax.
Added a cup
of golden flax seeds.
I added a shallot and a 1/4 cup
of golden flax meal to the meatball mixture and next time I would omit the 1/2 tsp.
I used psyllium husk instead
of golden flax meal and while it tasted ok — I actually suggest against psyllium husk — I didn't really like the husk taste, plus it becomes slightly sticky while chewing.
Instead
of golden flax, I used regular since that is what was on hand.

golden flax meal» would be the same as
flax seeds ground in a spice grinder (ours is new and does a good job
of breaking them down)?
When I first started eating Paleo / Keto I really didn't like the taste
of the darker
flax so I tried the
golden flax and love it.
I did add a few things, raisins, 1/2 c br.sugar, 1 tab cinnamon, i also used dark
flax meal only because
golden was out
of stock.now it's a cinnimon raisin bread, i will try this week your orig recipe.
Look for
golden flax seeds instead
of brown.The brown variety will be more likely to darken your baked goods due their brown hulls.
There is no difference between regular ground
flax seed and ground
golden flax seed in terms
of kitchen chemistry, although you might desire the look
of one versus the other.

of flax seed meal (AND, it's not
golden either) do you think it would come out ok if I fill the remainder

I used
golden flax meal and the color was very nice although I do like the dark color
of Elanas which I will use for the brushcetta when I make the next batch... no chance

This looks wonderful, and I'm always happy to have more hot keto cereal recipes (my favorite is a mix
of chia,
golden flax meal and almond flour).
Golden flax meal provides the cohesion I wanted and a beaten egg lends thickness and creaminess
of texture.
Since solin (Linola TM) only contains about 1 / 10th
of the alpha - linolenic (ALA) content
of other the brown and
golden flax varieties, it definitely should not be considered equivalent from a nutritional standpoint.
The light (
golden)
flax seeds are more expensive, so save your money (unless,
of course, you really need the lighter variety for some reason) and buy the dark variety.
