As an adaptation
of the anime, it does a
good job
of capturing the series» signature sense
of action and as a
game in general, it presents
mechanics and ideas that are entirely unique.
It has a lot
of the
mechanics down
well enough but the
game doesn't have enough content to warrant the price tag.
Cast
of the Seven Godsends follows the path
of classical action - platform
games like Ghosts»n Goblins, and it does it even too
well, bringing with it stale
mechanics that aren't so pleasant nowadays.
Only the fighting
mechanics are great, as they are much
better than any other aspect
of the
game.
Once you play a couple
of games it is pretty easy to see how the stock
mechanic works and develop a
good strategy.
The characters are
well written, familiar gameplay
mechanics such as the whistling and being able to pick up bodies is back, the story has clever links to the story
of the other AC
games, the modern day is
better and actually goes somewhere (albeit the ending is absolute wank) and the side missions are implemented
well into the goal
of the main story.
If there's anything that this
game doesn't do
well, it would be the weak explanation for how some
of it's
mechanics work.
The absolute
best aspect
of the
game is the player is not restricted to one
of the predetermined character classes
of a hunter (a typical ranger coupled with basic melee skills), a thaumaturge (an offensive mage) or an arcane
mechanic (a more gadgety kind
of mage).
That said, it's unlikely that they're getting the same
best of treatment as the minigames, which makes sense with how varied each
of the
games were in terms
of board
mechanics.
The
game also incorporates various battle
mechanics to
better bring the world
of Berserk to life, such as Magic and Transformations.
Because
of this, the seemingly lack
of good AI among titans could easily be defended as a planned
game mechanic.

Monster Hunter: World does the
best job in the series
of onboarding players to the various
mechanics and systems
of the
game.
I believe the titles have all been rated T. Similar
games (like Xenoblade and the last story) are also
good games, but I would say the
mechanics of Monster Hunter put it over almost every Rpg I have ever played.
Used in conjunction, the battle and job
mechanics provide a great degree
of variety to the
game, and allow for a
good degree
of strategy and experimentation on the part
of the player.
Injustice 2 features deep multiplayer modes, an engaging campaign, stellar writing, fantastic visuals, and Xbox One X enhanced patch, and some
of the
best fighting
mechanics to ever grace the video
game world.
The remake added gameplay
mechanics from Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons
of Liberty and cutscenes directed by Ryuhei Kitamura to the
game, as
well as rerecorded dialogue in higher quality.
Mugen Souls has some really
good ideas that I think fall short because
of the way the
game tries to explain the
mechanics and just how many there are to remember.
A few tweeks to the gameplay
mechanics and some shaping up
of the fighting systems and there's a solidly
good game with lots
of replay value to be had here.
The way the
game manages to weave simple RPG
mechanics on top
of the narrative works surprisingly
well, even if, ultimately, it all feels like a curious throwback to the days when even the most basic graphics were something
of a luxury.
