I purchased 4
of these grain sacks from 3:17 Vintage in Afton.
I did bring a ton
of grain sacks.
love the look
of these grain sacks.
However, it makes me think of my grandmother's «guest quilt» made by her aunt out
of grain sacks and clothing - fabric scraps.
If I was to be the very lucky winner
of this grain sack, I would have it framed.
I think I would find a way to incorporate it into a quilt with the front
of the grain sack in the center and a simple one - patch surrounding it.
Next I highlighted the legs, the edges of the top, the edges of the drawers, and the inside lid with a whitewash
of Grain Sack.
One side of the duvet is the red and blue pattern and the other side is neutral with the look
of grain sack stripes.
This way, you'll be able to stop and double check that you haven't pulled too hard one direction on the fabric, thus causing the straight line
of the grain sack stripe to suddenly look crooked.
I actually really love it as a neutral and it reminds me so much
of Grain Sack but with a pink undertone instead of the slight grey that Grain Sack has (both of these colours have a chameleon - like quality as they can change depending on the room they are in and the light — I actually think that is what I like about them!).
I also thought about using one of my many European stencils instead
of the grain sack stripe.

sacks of grain, smelting breastplates without covering them in leather like they've never seen a winter before.

sacks to upholster the seats and at first I thought maybe that was the problem... but upon further investigation I realized that every square inch
of wood that has the Amy Howard chalk paint on it smells like ammonia... every.single.inch.
You can see some
of the blue in the

Hi Carrie, I always mention paint colour in my posts this one is Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint in
Grain Sack and I used wax on the body
of the piece and Tung Oil on the top.
I stripped down the top and painted the base in a mix
of MMS Milk Paint Shutter Gray and
Grain Sack.
I love the combination
of the blue and white floral fabric with the
grain sack.
The top I white washed with MMSMP in
Grain Sack and then White Waxed to give it a soft look and to really highlight the edges
of this piece.
Her Christmas items seem to be out

By this post I have learned how to repair my cane chair by using

of bringing it to the repair shop or throwing it on the garbage.
