Oh yes, salads are quite amazing I love just tossing lots of leftovers into a bowl with a bed of greens (reminds me of Whole Foods lunches and then putting a nice slab
of hummus over everything to bind it all together - never underestimate the power of simplicity

Then I made my first batch
of herby garlicy chickpeas... and those hit the bread... then I suddenly started adding an egg on top... THEN I blew it
over the top with a drizzle
of hummus.
I used to make
hummus regularly using my mom's recipe, but
over the years I tweaked it in search
of that perfect, creamy texture, and I never quite got there.
I've been a total
hummus ADDICT for
over a decade, and I am a major proponent
of all things homemade.
I read Ruth Reichl's Gilt Taste article describing the serious virtues
of peeled chickpeas in
hummus last year and have been thinking it
over here and there ever since.
When the veggies and flatbread are cooked, flip the flatbread out
of the skillet onto a large plate and top with the
hummus spread, a sprinkling
of fresh arugula or spinach, and then arrange the roasted vegetables
over the top.
Sprinkle most
of the feta (I reserved a bit for the topping)
over the
hummus so that there is a straight line
of filling down the middle.
Over the years I have made many batches
of hummus, but there's one I make all the time.
Serving idea: spread
hummus on a plate and drizzle olive oil, a few cranks
of the pepper mill, and lemon zest
over surface
of hummus
Hummus is one
of my favorite savory snack options, whether it's during the day, or something that I put out when people are
over.
I'm trying to make the most
of it, sprinkling arils
over a bowl
of hummus, substituting it for tomatoes in tabbouleh, adding handfuls to bowls
of yogurt, and including it in simple grain dishes like this one with freekeh.
Sauté a blend
of ground lamb and mushrooms; season with cumin and spoon
over the
hummus.
Sprinkle the chopped almonds
over top so all
of the
hummus is covered (see photo above).
Certain dishes require very tender beans (like
hummus), while other dishes call for firmer beans (like stews and soups that need to be cooked
over long periods
of time).
Season with salt and then evenly distribute the
hummus mixture
over the fish or into the inside
of the portobellos using a spoon to smooth it out, covering the entire fish or filling the mushroom caps to the brim.
I served a bunch
of these beauties
over a
Hummus Tortilla Pizza tonight for a simple yet delicious meal, and I honestly can not wait to prepare the same exact meal again tomorrow with my leftovers!
Aside from making hemp everything, I've made many versions
of hemp
hummus over the years.
Eat it as is,
over greens, as a lettuce wrap with some
hummus or tahini dressing, or on top
of avocado or labneh toast!
Then when you come home from work starving, you can easily toast bread, spread some
hummus and pile on the arugula and squash for something healthy and delicious to hold you
over while you think
of what to cook for dinner.

If it were not for the small matter
of a global financial crisis or the vital debate
over what Peter Mandelson did or did not say
over the
hummus to George Osborne, all eyes would now be on the next stage
of the debate about extending detention without trial.
To fill, take a cooked crepe and spread
hummus over the inside surface (the side you cooked second), then add the filling ingredients
of your choice.
Sure,
hummus and veggies can be a healthy snack, but scooping half the container

hummus now and then, my consumption has dropped dramtically
over the last 9 months since I've been on the PB.
Roasted yam, asparagus, corn, red pepper and onion, chick peas and sriracha
hummus with a simple mix
of balsamic, Dijon, and olive oil
over greens.
I am 5ft 2in and 25 years old and I really have no idea how many calories I consume but this is an outline
of what I usually eat; for breakfast I'll have 2 - 3 boiled or
over easy eggs with spinach, avocado, tomatoes and mushroom, then for snacks I'll eat a handful
of carrots with
hummus, half a cucumber, a whole tomato, a handful
of olives, a can
of tuna with olive oil / pepper / salt (I'll have 2 - 3 snacks a day) and for dinner it'll be salmon / chicken / beef with assorted vegetables.
I had some rings
of roasted squash left
over from making Egg In A Squash Hole, and I had some
hummus on hand because I mostly always do, so I layered myself up a simple little tartine situation on a piece
of toasted Danish rye.
When you're happy with it, place the
hummus in a large bowl and sprinkle a little smoked paprika
over the top, followed by a swirl
of good olive oil.
One delicious bite
