There are plenty
of hummus recipes on the internet — I make it with chickpeas, a bit of warm water for smoothness, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, and olive oil.
They are so versatile and can be used in many recipes, including many hummus varieties (find
all of my hummus recipes here!)
Just curious... which is your favourite
of the hummus recipes you've made so far?
I actually started thinking about doing a firecracker cornbread around the time I was writing about fire oil in the context
of this hummus recipe.
Not exact matches
I usually go to M&S in Paris just to get supplies
of hummus and proper builder's tea but since I actually eat
hummus by the tubful, this would probably be more cost effective Thanks for the great
recipes!
As a vegan,
hummus is one
of my go - to
recipes.
Hummus and avocado toast can be so great but they're not very portable so I'm really excited by this new nut
recipe, as I can just put a little pot
of them in my bag and munch on them as I run around throughout the day.
You don't see most
of what I eat online and most
of my meals are far from beautiful, I often eat quick cook porridge for dinner, jars
of peanut butter with a spoon for breakfast, tubs
of hummus with slightly stale rye bread on the tube for lunch and a few too many trays
of not - quite - right brownies when I'm
recipe testing.
The food processor is great for a lot
of the dessert
recipes, nut butters and
hummus where as the blender is better for smoothies.
Some ideas to try: overnight oats (swap in seasonal fruit
of choice in this
recipe), egg frittata or egg muffins, or oatmeal cups for breakfast; tuna sandwich, chicken salad, a cup
of soup, or a salad for lunch; smoothies, yogurt parfaits,
hummus and veggies (try my
hummus endive boats), and fruit and peanut butter for snacks.
I like to use this Vegan Baba Ganoush
Recipe a lot like
hummus and dip vegetables or pita bread in it or use as a sandwich spread instead
of mayonnaise.
I love making
hummus because it's one
of those
recipes that is protein - packed (thanks to the mighty chickpea) and it's so adaptable.

The idea for these
hummus spring rolls came from a friend
of mine, who immediately suggested fusion spring rolls when I mentioned to her that I had made the
hummus recipe again.

If you don't have all
of the ingredients available, you can try this simpler

You use black beans instead
of garbanzo beans (or chickpeas) in this
hummus, but it still has many
of the same ingredients you would use in your typical
hummus recipe... like olive oil, garlic, and tahini.
There are some great
recipes, and techniques in this book - one

of course it calls for peeling your chickpeas.
The
recipe in Jerusalem by Ottolenghi is the best for proportions but changing the order
of the ingredients (up the liquid a bit) in a Vitamix and the smoothest, creamiest, divine
hummus is all yours (I'm not paid by Vitamix!)
I love using this
recipe as the base
of hummus tortilla pizzas and sandwiches, but it also makes an excellent appetizer dip served with fresh veggies and pita chips!

I'm only surprised to see that you don't include any olive oil (even drizzled in during the last minutes
of blending) in the

hummus recipe last year, but this is a raw vegan version
of pesto
hummus.
I actually halved the original
recipe (which made 4 cups
of hummus), so you could easily re-double it for a larger crowd.
