of Deborah Ball teaching mathematics for two years, accompanied by student work, student and teacher journals, and classroom discussion transcripts.
Our purpose was to better understand how the preservice teachers make sense
of the video and
hypermedia in relation to their experiences in everyday coursework, school - based observations, and clinical experience: the three major learning opportunities in most teacher education programs.
Hypermedia has been used as a way to target seemingly perpetual problems in teaching about teaching, including: understanding the complexity
of teaching, providing examples
of progressive teaching, and providing a similar experience (anchor) to facilitate class discussion.
