No longer are responsible pit bull owners willing to compromise their ability to own a breed of dog that has fallen victim to a growing
number of irresponsible owners.
Breed specific legislation fails to address the problem of attacks by dogs other than the proscribed breed or breeds and the
problem of irresponsible owners of those breeds.
I for one am tired to death of the accusation that if I buy a dog a shelter dog dies... sorry, that is NOT my fault, that is the fault
of the irresponsible owners of that particular dog... mine is asleep behind me being bedeviled by his cats... who are rescues by the way.
Other shelter dogs are the
victims of irresponsible owners that allow them to run loose until they get finally get picked up by animal control, or dogs brought home on impulse and are then ignored until their behavior has gotten totally out of control.
Most affected by such a ban are the easy - to - find, licensed family dogs owned by responsible people, not the unlicensed
dogs of irresponsible owners and criminals.
At that point it is the parents fault for not paying attention!!!!!!!!!! These dogs should not get a bad wrap because of irresponsible owners!!!!
Answer by Peter Wright The Chow, just like the Pit Bull, just acquired a bad reputation because at one time there was high demand for them (because of their looks) and as a result there was a lot of irresponsible breeding, and a
lot of irresponsible owners.
Unfortunately, pit bull - type dogs are stereotypically popular with the
kinds of irresponsible owners who might handle their dogs improperly, neglect them, chain them up, breed them for the wrong reasons or allow them to roam free and terrorize the neighborhood.
And I am concerned about ANY uneducated law being passed by UNEDUCATED POLITICIANS who have either no clue as to the real
problems of IRRESPONSIBLE owners, or who refuse to want to solve it properly.
many are in shelters
because of irresponsible owners who didn't realize that the cute puppy they brought home was going to grow bigger and or become that yappy, irritating creature they never trained.
