Not only are they delicious, they boost some beneficial bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract which can provide serious relief in
cases of irritable bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome and constipation.
Now published in the international journal Gut, the research focused on a small sample of patients with various
types of irritable bowel disease, and, for the first time, followed them for a year comparing blood samples when patients experienced symptoms to when they were symptom free.
Only after trial and error, changing foods, and experimenting with what did and did not work, the dog ended up at a veterinary clinic with a
diagnosis of irritable bowel disease (IBD).
