The inaugural exhibition shows the ethos
of Kurimanzutto, suspending 55 wooden constructions made from found scraps and objects donated by Mr. Cruzvillegas's friends and associates, from avocados to a whole Prosciutto ham.
Moving to New York, she added, «will bring us back to the fundamentals
of Kurimanzutto when it first opened in Mexico City, where we'll look for spaces around the city according to the artists» ideas and projects.»

Kurimanzutto New York debuts officially on May 3 at 22 East 65th Street (it's also open this Saturday) it will be something
of a homecoming, since the idea for the original gallery was hatched here.

This spring,
Kurimanzutto gallery hosted an exhibition
of British artist Sarah Lucas's bodily assemblages made
of mostly nylon pantyhose and cotton stuffing contorted and placed on pedestals
of stacked adobe bricks, all sourced in Mexico.
Kurimanzutto's Kabinett will feature a salon - style hanging
of paper collages by South Korean artist Haegue Yang (b. 1971), which will be displayed against a backdrop
of «Grid Bloc A3», a publication that Yang created in collaboration with illustrator Jeong Hwa Min in 2013.
It was an honour to be so involved with the fair this year - from judging the Stand Prize which so moved me —
kurimanzutto from Mexico and Tillmans in The Nineties both brought tears to my eyes — to having the opportunity to moderate two events; Frieze extends its generosity through its conversations outside
of the pure limits
of the art market and into the wider world
of art and culture: viva Frieze 2016!

«Caída libre (Free fall)» is a solo exhibition by Miguel Calderón centered around the theme
of falconry organized in collaboration with
Kurimanzutto Gallery, Mexico City.
To coincide with the exhibition,
kurimanzutto will produce a publication which pays homage to the original format and concept
of Signals London's Newsbulletin, which documented its exhibitions, and included critical essays, images, experimental poetry, and reports on new art and new science from home and abroad.
kurimanzutto was founded in 1999 in Mexico City by Mónica Manzutto, José Kuri, and a group
of 13 artists including Gabriel Orozco.
kurimanzutto is pleased to announce the opening
of Signals: If You Like I Shall Grow, a major exhibition focusing on the renowned art gallery and meeting place Signals London (1964 - 66), which will be presented at Thomas Dane Gallery in London from June 08 - July 21, 2018.

As a cross-disciplinary space open to critical research and social encounter, Signals London has long been a source
of inspiration for
kurimanzutto.
Founded in Mexico City in 1999 by Mónica Manzutto and José Kuri,
kurimanzutto is currently located in the San Miguel Chapultepec neighborhood
of Mexico City and represents 34 artists
of different nationalities.
The common energy shared by
kurimanzutto and its artists has led to the shared creation
of projects, publications, workshops, and exhibitions.

The exhibition was conceived by
kurimanzutto co-founder José Kuri in 2016, and is curated by Dr. Isobel Whitelegg, an art historian who has published widely on Signals London and the international circulation
of Latin American art.
kurimanzutto's primary aim was to promote the careers
of these artists and adapt to the varied and experimental projects it undertook.
kurimanzutto new york will celebrate the launch
of its new project space with an Open House on Thursday, May 3 from 12:00 - 8:00 pm.
