Wilke's large hanging

of circular
latex pieces in soft yellows, pinks and greens.
Stretching across the entire back
wall of the gallery is Wilke's large - scale multiple

latex wall paint November 18 — December 23, 2010 Jack Shainman Gallery is pleased to announce Body & Space, the second solo exhibition at the gallery
of new work by Odili Donald Odita.
Moving beyond the membrane - as - enclosure, Balema's most gestural and abstract works are flat, twisty sheets
of foam, some coated with brightly coloured
latex, affixed to
walls and ceilings by thin steel rods.
Commonly cited examples, which are repeated in the catalog, include, among others, Lynda Benglis» pouring
of pigmented
latex directly on a floor, on which it hardened; Richard Serra's works in which he cast molten lead into the corner where floor met
wall (one
of which has been reproduced at SFMOMA); Robert Smithson's pouring
of viscous asphalt down a hillside outside Rome; and Eva Hesse's «Rope Piece,» in which lengths
of rope were let to hang loosely in a space in three - dimensional mimicry

For the exhibition, Benglis will show one
of her early floor pieces composed
of brightly pigmented poured
latex, as well as new works and a selection
of earlier
wall works.
Avantika Bawa's «(un) fragmented spaces» (2005) is comprised
of hybrid objects built mostly with irregularly shaped pieces
of cardboard and Styrofoam (but also graphite and
latex); mounted on the
wall, they frame a door jamb in the gallery and meet at the convex right angle where two
walls meet.
No matter the option you will need to get all
of the loose paint off the
wall... clean it with a little mildew killer (not totally necessary but I would)... then use a nice
latex primer to seal the
walls before you apply the top coat.
While we used
latex paint for the roller stenciling on the
wall, we chose to match similar colors
of Chalk Paint for the chest for ease
of use, coverage, and durability.
These were a combination
of acrylic craft paints, and
latex wall paint.
But, when I need to paint large areas such as
walls in a kitchen or bathroom (or even the exterior
of a house), I will need to defer to
latex.
For the feature
wall to be stenciled, they chose a beautiful white over a dark
latex paint for a lot
of drama and pop.
For the inside
of the house, I wanted the
walls to match the dominate
wall colors in our home, so I grabbed out several jars
of leftover
latex paint from our storage room.
huh??? but the behr paint is not
latex... i looked it up on google, as we in our country have different marks
of paint... and yes we have
latex in holland hahaha... we paint our
walls with it... anyway, i mixed the carbonate mix into normal furniture colored paint... it gives a real chalk look untill now... wonder how it lookes tomorrow hahaha... thanks for comment... let you know what happend...
