I have been visiting Tybee Island since 1990 and have always loved the quant charm
of this little beach town.
The beach is my absolute favorite place to be and I'm in need
of a little beach therapy.
I think this hallway could be right inside one
of the little beach cottages I have on my blog today!

Fly Point, further west on the other side
of Little Beach is part of the same Aquatic Reserve and another popular dive site, with plenty of small fish life: bream, yellowtail and snapper.

We walked along the
beach, where he chased the waves a
little too closely and ended up with soaking wet jeans; visited the Page Museum, where we watched volunteers meticulously dust off newly discovered fossils; stopped for dinner at one
of my favorite restaurants, where I nearly single - handedly polished off an entire Hula Pie ice cream dessert by myself; meandered out along a pier, where a practically blind seagull almost flew straight into my guy's head; and drove through the rain to the Pacific Marine Mammal Center, where we chuckled at the seals in the synchronized swimming routine.
First, a
little background on the location: the new Oak Bay
Beach Hotel is actually the third incarnation
of the hotel.
This time four years ago, my husband and I were sipping Pina Coladas on the
beach while on our honeymoon and I haven't been able to get them out
of my head, but I wanted to switch it up a
little.
I daydreamed a whole lifestyle, living somewhere where coconuts and mangos grow everywhere, making all kinds
of varieties
of these cones in a
little palm thatched hut by the
beach.
When I moved south to Canggu, Bali I had this gorgeous
little villa close to the
beach — and swapped the benefits
of a kitchen for proximity to some absolutely divine cafes, restaurants and a burgeoning social scene.

of us in our

Beach house.
Bring a great playlist
of beach music to set the mood — try to play more upbeat fun music during the day and a
little more chilled out and relaxed music for the evening.
It has become my beverage
of choice when I need a
little afternoon pick me up or to sip at the
beach.
Maybe its because I know the yumminess that is about to get nestled inside, but most likely it's the
little kid inside
of me that also loves stomping through her sand castles on the
beach.
I remember the first time I tried lavender, it was in the form
of a
little shortbread cookie from a popular bakery in Capitola, California, a quaint
beach town very close to where I grew up.
