of them, somehow, in a way that was ultimately moving, comes the presence
of Jesus through locked doors and barriers
of skepticism, cynicism, and doubt, all
of these
things that prevent ourselves
from being God's people.
The disciples don't quite get the connection, for they, like all
of us, still
look at things from the world's perspective, and so think that being «chosen» by God refers to receiving special blessings, honor, privilege, and power.
