of my favorite homemade nut
butters.
These truffles pack all the flavour
of mangoes, with the textural elements
of coconut and
macadamia butter.
Heaps
of bittersweet dark chocolate chunks, gooey white chocolate chips, and crunchy
macadamia nuts all playing off that sweet nuttiness
of the brown
butter, and finished with big flakes
of Maldon sea salt.
Seeds: pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, chia seeds, hemp seeds Nuts:
macadamia nuts, almonds, peanuts, cashew nuts, hazelnuts, brazil nuts, pine nuts Fruit: freeze dried strawberries, freeze dried raspberries, freeze dried bananas, fresh chopped - up figs, fresh chopped - up apricots or peaches or pears or pineapples Protein: chunks
of protein bars, chunks
of protein cakes, chunks

This white hot chocolate gets its rich flavor from
macadamia nuts and cacao
butter, the pressed oil
of the cacao bean.
Macadamia butter Macadamias are quite low in protein compared to most nuts, but are uniquely high in monounsaturated fats (the most
of all nuts).
If lunch is going to be later, I'll have a snack, usually a few
macadamia nuts or a spoonful
of coconut
butter.
In a mixing bowl, combine slightly warmed coconut
butter, the juice
of one lemon, coconut sap, coconut oil, vanilla extract and salt and then add the
macadamia mixture.
As for subbing
macadamia for hazelnuts, I'm not sure... the fat content
of macadamia is much higher than that
of the hazelnuts... if you do try it, be really careful not to over process them, as they turn to
butter fairly quickly, and maybe add an extra tablespoon
of coconut flour to make up for the extra fat content.
If you like your nut
butter more spreadable, add ⅛ to 1/4 cup
of macadamia nut oil to help smooth it out.
As a quick note, the solution to all
of these major problems with vegetable oils is to use healthy oils like coconut oil, olive oil,
macadamia oil, avocado oil, and grass - fed
butter, all
of which are MUCH healthier than vegetable oils and don't cause any
of the problems we've described in this section
of the article.
The best sources
of fats to build muscle are: organic cow's
butter, goat
butter, olive oil,
macadamia butter, cashew
butter, peanut
butter, almond
butter, pecan
butter, Brazil nut
butter,
macadamia oil, coconut oil, MCT oil, fish oil.
On top
of the high fat content
of the coconut concentrate and
macadamia nut
butter, I decided to add more coconut oil to really rev up the MCT content and keep the ketone production going.
It takes advantage
of the featherlight, moisturizing properties
of jojoba, sweet almond, avocado and
macadamia oils and adds a punch
of hydration with shea
butter.
