One of the advantages
of milk paint over latex paint is its versatility in finish coats.

of a novice at using
milk paint, but I had success with
painting a base coat in one color, then using the wax puck in spots, and then
painting over the piece with a second color
of milk paint.
I read every post on the blog
of Miss Mustard Seed and I am very interested in her making
overs with
milk paint.
Another option would have been to
paint a base coat
of acrylic or chalk
paint over the entire piece and then add a layer
of milk paint without bonding agent.

It is important to try out your test ratio to be sure you have not compromised the binding power
of your
milk paint / safepaint due to
over saturation.
Think about
painting walls, cupboards or wood furnishings with a fresh wash
of milk - white and add just a few homespun accents... for a splash
of color, hang a quilt on the wall from a curtain rod or throw it
over a chair..........
Hemp oil is one
of my favorite topcoats
over dark
milk paint colors, especially black.

over a previously
painted surface that has some type
of effect — will most likely pass through to the Chalk Paint ® or
Milk Paint.

milk paint line... we just sent folks
over there to check them out before buying colors.
I haven't used any
of the popular
milk or chalk type
paints that are all
over blogland but I have seen several pieces up close and personal.
I've not thought
of the possibility
of using chalk
paint layered
over milk paint!

While the first coat
of milk paint was drying, I
painted grain sack stripes on a piece
of drop cloth left
over from other projects.
I've done quite a few
of these sets
over the years, but this custom
milk paint color has to be my favorite.
