The 17 thousand islands offer some of the world's best dive sites: from mola - mola to mantas, spectacular coral reefs to extensive wrecks and plenty
of muck diving too.
Due to the the high quality
of the muck diving in Lembeh Strait the visitors to this little island off the eastern coast of North Sulawesi have often missed out on something quite magnificent; Lembeh Island itself!
There's also an area of wreckage with big barges to explore and plenty
of muck diving on the sea bed in between.
We had a good combination
of muck diving and current surfing.
A short drive from here is the Lembeh Strait - the undisputed King
of muck diving destinations.
Haan's Reef is found just east of Gili Air and is a good place for lovers
of muck diving and macro photographers.
Nearby there is also the mainland sand slopes of Manado, these offer the great alternative
of muck diving.
Mabul itself is well known for muck diving, but unfortunately is no paradise, and has a huge rubbish problem (not the kind
of muck diving we enjoy).
Lembeh island is one
of the muck diving capital of the world and it is also where one of the Two Fish dive centres is.

Muck diving» is mainly over sand or silt but with hundreds
of little species to find in the sandy areas — good for anyone who has done a few dives and wants to try something a bit different.
This trip started with the famous
muck diving of Ambon to finish in Raja Ampat 12 days later.We encountered a lot
of Sharks, starting already at the check dive with a couple
of Cat Sharks.
For those who don't wish to dive everyday at Sipadan, staying on nearby Pulau Mabul island in one

of Chinese Sea Snakes Alor is well known for big fish as well as
muck diving.
Yet another great
muck diving site in Indonesia, Ambon's Laha consists
of a slope from 6 to 39 feet (2 to 12 meters).
Anilao, a two - hour drive south
of Manila, also has many resorts and is known mainly for its
muck diving.
