The notion — by some of my fellow reviewers — that the book is too long is precisely the reason I found it captivating... Indeed, most contemporary books are so in love with their own postmodernity that they often run out
of narrative momentum within the first 200 pages.
I was just mulling over this very matter earlier this week in a review of USA's «Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G.,» which also cuts corners and condenses facts in the name
of narrative momentum and dramatic impact.
Things should get better with the arrival of Henry Cavill as Clark Kent, but the hour that follows is a fatal mix of awkward editing and a void
of narrative momentum.
With a considerably scattershot plot, one which has a somewhat episode design, Nerdland lacks

narrative (ie there's a sense
of forward
momentum that was almost entirely absent from that earlier picture).

of mentoring, Sundance Institute created the Sally Menke Memorial Editing Fellowship, to support an emerging
narrative editor in furthering their craft, expanding their artistic community and providing

Worse yet, there's little
momentum to this alleged satire
of the golden age
of filmmaking, there's little congruency
of narrative and there's even less holisticness to the events once they've all been assembled.
