So unheard
of was what researchers discovered in a protein associated with glaucoma that for over two years they ran it through a gauntlet
of lab tests and published a
new research paper on it.
Their
paper published on March 22 by the Proceedings
of the National Academy
of Sciences highlights
research that offers a
new understanding
of how these bacteria may use «nanowires» to accomplish the electronic feat.
For this study, Yanik's team developed a
new technology to inject RNA carried by nanoparticles called lipidoids, previously designed by Daniel Anderson, an associate professor
of chemical engineering, member
of the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer
Research and Institute for Medical Engineering and Science, and an author
of the
new paper.
They report their findings in a
new paper accepted for publication in Geophysical
Research Letters, a journal
of the American Geophysical Union.
