I did start thinking that it would be
nice to be in a normal job and be able to take off a few months

maternity items as you can't usually wear them outside
of being pregnant, s o it's always

of items that will work for pregnancy (and being short waisted, I have the same problem with regular waistlines!)
Quality: I think these items have the
nicest quality
of any
maternity and nursing clothing I have ever owned and as you know, I've reviewed quite a few brands.
I actually bought a really
nice (expensive) pair
of maternity dress pants for work (from a different well known brand) and wore them three times before the seam on my butt ripped in the middle
of my work day.
Sounds like it was a mixed bag
of keep and return, but definitely
nice that they have a
maternity selection!
BUT, out
of this misery one really cool thing was born: My styling project with a super
nice maternity brand.
This sounds like the perfect time for a capsule wardrobe with
maternity bottoms, swingy non-
maternity dresses that you can wear now and postpartum with or without a belt (Old Navy's jersey ones are
nice if they are dressy enough for your office), and a couple
of great blazers that you leave unbuttoned.
(I will admit, part
of the reason I like sleeping in my
maternity t - shirts is that they feel vaguely fitted but
nice and loose in the tummy, which isn't my favorite body area.)
It was one
of the
nicest gifts I have ever received — a huge box
of gorgeous vintage
maternity tops, dresses, and skirts from the 50s and 60s.
Doesn't seem super flattering, but it's certainly
nice to see something besides all
of the bodycon shift dresses everyone seems to be pushing for
maternity right now, and it looks like it could work for third trimester (which I'm down to 2 appropriate work dresses at 35 weeks now)
This one, I'll grant you, has an unusual print, but I kind
of like it — it's a fun, spring - y plaid and it's a
nice change from the typical
maternity dresses.
Obviously you know your office best, but while I agree that most jersey is too casual for a formal office (and a lot
of maternity clothes are crappy jersey) but I wore Isabella Oliver wrap dresses for a big chunk
of my pregnancy and if you pick the right colors, I thought they looked
nice enough.
This dress has a lot
of good reviews and just looks like a really
nice maternity style.
