Might try it with a little less orange juice next time, as I ended up with some liquid left over (may have been the particular brand
of oats I used, though?).
If you omit it, I would reduce the amount
of oats you use by 1/2 -2 / 3 cup so that they don't turn out dry.
I ended up using 3/4 cup of water but your amount may vary depending on how thin the applesauce you use is and what type
of oats you use.
Hi... Was wondering about the type
of oats used here... Can I use regular quick cook oats or should I used rolled oats?
Instead of using almond butter I used light peanut butter and instead of 2.25 cups
of oats I used 2.5.
It seems a bit crunchy, perhaps I need to cut back on the baking time, or it could have been the brand
of oats I used.
Not sure if this is true, but I would definitely be careful about the type
of oats I used in these recipes.

All you need to do is mix porridge
oats with some milk and yoghurt (I
use coconut milk and coconut yoghurt normally), some dried apple pieces, a sprinkling
of chia seeds, a handful
of sunflower seeds and some juicy raisins, then just stir it all together and leave it sit for about a minute.

There isn't a particular brand
of oats which I
use but I always
use organic jumbo
oats.

I must admit I not a big fan
of eating oat groats in their sold form (in a cereal); however, maybe through this smoothie I can still get my daily dose
of oats through oat milk =) Unfortunately I can not find any fresh figs in the farmer markets these days, nevertheless, I got myself an extra load
of raspberries and blackberries, so I shall
use those as a substitute for the time being.

used quinoa flakes in the place

of being made with ingredients such as flour, butter and sugar, I
use ingredients such as
oats, nuts, coconut oil and maple syrup.
Sadly I haven't made it with anything else, you could try replacing the coconut oil with another neutral oil
of your choice and
use more
oats instead
of the buckwheat x
I normally soak my
oats in coconut or almond milk but when I was at my parents house in Italy recently there was a jug
of fresh - squeezed blood orange juice so I
used that.
I also
used Rude Health Organic 5 Grain 5 Seed instead
of plain
oats.

of different brands for these, amazon is a great place for vanilla powder and for
oats I tend to
use own brand supermarket x

use jumbo
oats as rolled or quick
oats go through a process which tends to get rid a lot
of the nutrients and goodness x
At the moment I am
using an old coconut oil jar, but it shouldn't matter too much how big your jar is because the quantity
of oats will still be the same x
Mine's also totally gluten free as most
of these types
of recipes
use oats, so I've moved to brown rice flour to make it easier for you all.
The substitution I made was
using barley (made into a coarse flour in food processor) instead
of oats, and no blueberries (sliced strawberries on top).

I noticed that you
use buckwheat and
oats as one
of your ingredients but these seem to contain gluten in smaller quantities.
I couldn't find sunflower seeds, so just went with the recipe as posted (substituted some
of more expensive ingredients — honey for maple syrup, different type
of date), but will
use suggestion
of upping
oats next time to see how it goes.
I am celiac and never try

of oats — both work well!
However, I only
used about 2/3
of the
oats you said, and they were still very dry and the mixture was extremely crumbly — should I have melted the coconut oil?
