I love caramelized onions and any sort
of onion dip, so I knew I had to make it.
I was never really a fan
of onion dip either, but this is GOOD stuff, infinitely better than that packaged crap.
A grown - up remake
of the onion dip I loved as a kid.
Ingredients: 12 large shrimp, peeled, deveined and butterflied 1 8 oz package of cream cheese (regular or light), softened 1/2 package
of onion dip seasoning 1/2 package of ranch seasoning 8 - 10 strips of thin sliced bacon

Though I was completely sure that I wasn't going to get anything done since we'd just arrived home from LA, I ended up pulling together a nice feast for my friends and I. I had TVP chili, caramelized
onion and bacon
dip, cream cheese wontons, and tons
of cookies and chocolate - covered treats!
1) Peel and cut mango, avocados,
onion and tomatoes into cubes / dices accordingly 2) Place cubed / diced ingredients in a large bowl 3) Squeeze lime juice over ingredients, add salt & pepper to taste and mix well 4) Pre-heat oven to 180 deg cel 5) Pile all the tortilla sheets in one stack, and cut them into 10 - 12 slices (as if you were cutting a pizza) 6) Use a brush to spread a little bit
of oil on both sides
of the cut tortilla sheets 7) Place greased cut tortilla sheets onto a baking tin / tray, making sure not to overlap them (if there is not enough space, toast them in various batches) 8) Toast tortilla chips until crispy and slightly golden brown 9) Serve

Even though they're similar, using both
onion powder and fresh chives helps to add layers to the flavor
of the
dip.
If you're a big fan
of onion rings from Burger King, you probably already know about the spicy
dipping sauce offered from the world's number two burger chain (it's not always on the menu, and you usually have to request it).

This version
of the cheesy
dip gets a kick
of color and flavor from roasted red peppers and green
onions.
What I had in mind were simple cocktail snacks, and the menu included tomato and
onion bruschetta; carrot and celery sticks with a delicious cream cheese
dip; cheese and salami; and finally, for the star
of the meal, homemade scones topped with slices
of ham and cheese, and finished with cream cheese and freshly chopped chives.
This is very similiar to my version... just substitute 12oz
of french
onion dip for the
onion & milk, and cut the sour cream back to 12oz, too.

When I got down there — using the elevator hidden in a fake outhouse in the corner
of a vacant lot — I immediately rinsed the
dip in a strainer and discovered bits

A little more experimentation with this sauce, some mayonnaise and a couple
of other ingredients, and I eventually had an awesome re-creation
of the delicious
dipping sauce that can be served with home - baked
onion rings, poppers, French fries, or as a really great hamburger spread.
I usually make a taco
dip which consists
of taco chips and the
dip: cream cheese, cottage cheese, tex mex powder, and topped shredded cheese, sour cream, tomatoes and green
onions.
As if I wasn't already addicted to French
onion dip (like seriously, finish - the - whole - bowl addicted) whenever it's placed in front
of me, you go and add brown butter.

But once those smells
of cooking
onions and cinnamon hit me, all I could think about was
dipping bread in the juices and tearing off hunks
of chicken with my fingers, so I served it tajine style.
I did use a couple variations based on the Confit Byaldi recipe you give the link to above: 1) cooked the
onion and garlic, salt and pepper in olive oil until soft in a pan, then 2) took half a red bell pepper, cooked according to the Byaldi recipe, chopped it and mixed into the mix above, 3) simmered the whole thing with some parsley, thyme leaves and half a bay leaf, removing the thyme and bay leaf once it heated up; 4) used sliced tomatoes instead
of red bell peppers interspersed with the other veggies, and made the vinaigrette according to the Byaldi recipe to decorate the plates /
dip the ratatouille in.
Of course, some
dips are more mainstream than others — take for instance, good old - fashioned French
onion dip.

It's always been there on every plate
of raw vegetables with
dip, in every batch
of homemade broth and stock, sauteed with
onions and carrots as the basis for sauces and soups the world over.
In an editorial entitled «Salsa No Substitute for Real Vegetables,» the Albuquerque Journal (
of all newspapers) sniffed: «Two tablespoons
of salsa, which is really nothing more than a condiment like relish,
onion dip, or guacamole, can not replace a serving
of carrots or broccoli in a healthy meal.»
My mom, who hates
onions but loves
onion dip made from the blue box, would take the packet
of dried
onions and crush it through a strainer until there wasn't a lick
of onion string left in the
dip.
The
dip is delightfully creamy (so creamy that dippers will suspect it contains dairy; it doesn't), naturally sweet from the caramelized
onions, and super flavourful thanks to the trio
of citrus, garlic and dried herbes de provence (which you should be able to find in the spices section
of most grocery stores).
I love the idea
of caramelized
onions with white beans in this
dip!
Savory carmelized
onions and spices are blended with a creamy mixture

In her honor, I've created the exact opposite kind
of dip, deeply flavored by sweet caramelized
onions.
i've wanted to recreate a new, vegan / dairy - free version
of a traditional
onion dip for a long time.
6 - 7oz salmon filet, cut in half 6 cups salad greens 1/4 cup each diced asparagus, sweet red bell pepper, sweet yellow bell pepper, sliced scallions or chopped purple
onion 2 oz sliced white cheddar 1/3 cup Greek Goddess
dip / dressing (see below)-- Can use purchased pesto in place
of dip, if desired.

We cook up a pound or more
of black beans and usually turn most
of it into a bit
of a mash w / frozen kale, tomato,
onion, garlic and mexican spices, then we either use that for
dipping nachos or for gooey black bean quesadillas (we try to freeze one pb jar full for a rainy day).

onion dip with bacon comes in... a combination
of Philadelphia cream cheese, caramelized
onions and bacon makes it the ultimate parent reward for enduring a 2 + hour birthday party.

of your next game day party!
I shredded up a rotisserie chicken and added the remaining
onions and some
of the sauce to that, and after I fried the tortillas I
dipped them in the sauce.
This simple, 20 - minute

To me french
dip also includes saute
onions so I carmelized some
onions ahead
of time and added them in between the 2 layers instead
of the mozzarella and put all the cheese on top.
Instead, a combination
of carrots,
onion, garlic, cashews, and nutritional yeast is blended together for a vegan version
of the classic
dip.
Add the garlic at the same time and cook for 1 minute, then
dip about a cup
of the water out
of the pasta pot, and put it in with the tomato paste, garlic,
onion & fennel pot and mix together.
