Excellent french onion soup, English style, as a cream
of onion soup.
Now this sort of reminds
me of onion soup.
The healing goodness
of onion soup not only helps the body fight colds and flu but also bladder, kidney, and chronic urinary tract infections.
Place your beef roast (about 2 pounds) in your slow cooker and pour in 1 can of cream of mushroom soup (no water added), and then sprinkle 1 packet
of onion soup mix on top.
That dip, by the way, is made with just two ingredients — sour cream and an envelope
of onion soup.
One big modification I did was use cream
of onion soup instead of cream of chicken (not a fan of processed chicken like that!).

In a bowl, mix the two cans of soup, the can of broth and the packet
of onion soup mix together until creamy.
Vegetable broth in place of chicken broth, cream
of onion soup instead of cream of chicken, and then added cooked salad shrimp.
I typically make soup at least once a week, and Dorie's version
of onion soup will become part of my soup repertoire.

The veggies are a nice mix
of sweet potatoes, cauliflower, yellow carrots, and red
onion and, coupled with the
soup, finished off my meal nicely.2.
Lately my go to recipe seems to be roasted cauliflower
soup, roasting the garlic and
onion along side the cauliflower allows me to prep this ahead
of time.

I actually added about a cup
of red lentils with the broth after the
onions softened to give the
soup some protein and a bit more heartiness.
Most
soups I make, and I make a lot
of soups, start with sautéed
onions in butter and oil and maybe some carrots, celery, and garlic before adding the main vegetable.
In a large
soup pot heat the butter over medium - low heat and cook the
onion, garlic and a dash
of salt and pepper 5 minutes, stirring often.

I was wary
of the pickled spring
onions (scallions)... but they are awesome with the
soup!!!
At the first taste to me it reminded me
of french
onion soup.
Usually when you finish a
soup like this — and by «like this» I mean a relatively simple sauté
of onion and garlic, a simmering
of vegetables in broth followed by a run in the blender — cream or crème fraiche or sour cream goes in and you could do that here, but I didn't want to bury the brightness
of the miso paste, so I instead drizzled some toasted sesame oil on it (which is, frankly, like crack to me) and scattered some thinly sliced scallions.

soup coming next week that makes great use

onion soup has either sherry or brandy in it.
It's a nice twist on the classic French
onion soup with the addition
of the French green lentils and the crunchy fennel.

onion tart not because it is necessarily «French» but more so because it tastes like a thick cheesy bowl

onion soup, in tart form

The butter is totally justified if there's pumpkin in there:) I love that the

of which butternut squash in medium and thus best eaten only in small quantities, and garlic and

onion 1 can EACH cream
of potato and cream
of celery
soup 12 oz sour cream or plain yogurt Mix all together and bake covered for 1 hour
