Scientific language («The
temperature was -5 degrees Fahrenheit») seeks language that has a certain kind
of precision lacking in our
ordinary speech — a precision that we can quantify and test, that can be used to settle disputes about how cold it actually is.
The forces holding diiodine molecules in the crystal are modest, and liquid iodine is not stable at
ordinary temperatures and pressures, so that solid iodine sublimes to give a rather large concentration
of diatomic molecules in the vapor phase.

ordinary matter tends to melt into its fundamental constituents, with
temperatures more than 100,000 times hotter than the center
of the sun.
This is because its low
temperature and high phase - space density make coherent stimulated emission possible: in an
ordinary thermal gas
of Ps, the Doppler shifts
of the atoms would suppress lasing action.
That density depends upon the
temperature of the Ps, but it is likely to be in the range
of 1018 Ps atoms per cubic centimeter, which is about 3 %
of the density
of ordinary air.
3 Collapse

temperature of the CMB across the sky, from which cosmologists have determined the content

The STAR collaboration's exploration
of the «nuclear phase diagram» shows signs

ordinary atomic nuclei and the quark - gluon plasma (QGP)
of the early universe when the QGP is produced at relatively low energies /
temperatures.
In low energy RHIC collisions, scientists suspect that while the change in phase from QGP to
ordinary protons / neutrons occurs, both distinct states (QGP and
ordinary nuclear matter) coexist — just like bubbles

temperature and the amount
of moisture it contains.
The process is just as easy as making
ordinary yogurt from cow's or goat's milk, which I do weekly: you simply combine the coconut milk with yogurt ferment or a probiotic supplement, and leave it to incubate at a steady, moderate
temperature (around 40 °C or 105 °F) until the coconut milk is cultured, which takes 24 hours for the level
of tang I like.
Amazon calls Cat's Cradle «one
of Vonnegut's most entertaining novels... filled with scientists and G - men and even
ordinary folks caught up in the game [who] chase each other around in search
of the world's most important and dangerous substance, a new form

temperature around 29 degree's Celsius.
Isotopious (# 50) argues that the hockey stick (a thousand years

of the
ordinary».

temperature rise and to claim the raise is not out
of the
ordinary.

temperature which happens to have a rapid warming trend at the end
of the series is absolutely nothing out
of the
ordinary with regards to «other» thousand years periods in the Holocene.
Using this model to forecast the
temperature in 2005 I get an estimate
of 0.35 C + / - 0.14 C, well below the recorded annomaly
of 0.7 C. I am using the standard approach to estimating and forecasting using
ordinary least squares (OLS).
However, the jump in
temperature between 1997 and 1998 in this record certainly appears to pass the «smell test» (better than 3 standard deviations
of interannual variability) for something out
of the
ordinary.
Anyway it is a false comparison to compare old
temperatures with new
temperatures when asking «wht should we do» you need to compare «our solution» with «their solution» If you are advocating a political strategy you need to accept current proposed strategies will probably still result in the majority
of the global warming predicted in the
ordinary scenario (if not all
of it — a point which I can argue if you like).
«uncertainty» equals no consensus but consensus is not proof this is just one classic example
of just more humans trying to justify their existence and no the IPCC Judith Curry and everyone else involved continue dancing on the head
of a pin whilst Mr
Ordinary gets his wealth sequestrated in order to pay for these guys to indulge in their pet hobby when the person who is making their life possible derives no benefit whatsoever except higher and higher energy bills, more restrictions on their ability to travel whilst again the lauded few get to travel across the planet 1st class to tout their jaded theories
of how what and where and all I hope and pray is that we get another five years

temperatures then you are all toast and in a great need
of having to work for a living or get another hobby.
We are now seeing the rise
of a new, supercharged type
of drought, in which global warming - related
temperature extremes combine with dry conditions to transform what would otherwise be an
ordinary drought event into a far more severe event.
If it's a product the
ordinary chaotic behavior
of weather, why is chaos producing a steady (two steps forward one step back) rise in the Earth's
temperature, instead
of the patternless disturbance that we would expect from — chaos?
Thanks to the consistent
temperature of the earth, geothermal is more than twice as efficient at cooling than any
ordinary heat pump or air conditioner and more than five times as efficient at heating than any traditional fossil fuel furnace.

Birkeland currents are interesting, although they seem to be a possible correction to direct solar irradiance only at the poles and only in the ionosphere, which is already enormously hot — between 1500C and 2500C — but so tenuous that you wouldn't feel heat if you stuck your arm out into the near vacuum
of the ionosphere, you'd feel intense cooling as your blood started to boil and
ordinary thermometers would radiate heat away faster than they would equilibrate (and hence would read very cold
temperatures).
So asserting that heat won't flow in figure 2 above, or will stop flowing before all
of the gas reaches thermal equilibrium, is just like saying that heat won't flow between two
ordinary jars
of gas at different
temperatures in the laboratory, and well over a hundred years
of experiments, the entire refrigeration and air conditioning industry, a huge body
of technology and engineering, and well understood physical theories all say otherwise.
It is exactly like an
ordinary jar

temperature of -50 degrees C.
It is also interesting to note that if, the second term in vanishes (making any
temperature a «low»
temperature as) and gravity does indeed behave like additional degrees
of freedom in the specific heat
of the entire system while every small subvolume
of the gas still behaves precisely like an
ordinary ideal gas with kinetic energy $ \ frac -LCB- 3 -RCB--LCB- 2 -RCB- NkT $ and yes, with detailed balance across any vertical surface (although yes, Joe, my argument involving shifting the MB distribution was sloppy and imprecise — hopefully you like this one better but the result is the same either way).

Deeply isolated in their own tiny academic bubble only talking to like minded individuals also inside
of that bubble where the real word rarely intrudes, I doubt that very many

ordinary citizen on the street particularly when they try to sell a bill
of goods like those adjusted and etc and etc
temperatures from a half dozen or more decades past as the real
temperatures of the times and then change those same
temperatures or remove then the next day or week or whatever and then change then yet again and again.

ordinary, nor land - only surface
temperature data, which also shows no large drop.
From reading the entire month long 1500 + comments, many
of the staticians providing statistics power to climate science which has linked
temperature and CO2 had not considered determining the presence
