of us crave intense
cardio every day while
others find their bliss in a daily yoga practice.

other hand, there are rows and rows
of assorted
cardio machines which are scientifically proven as being essentially useless for both fat loss and muscle building goals, water massage beds and dozens
of large TV - screens... ok, we have to be brutally honest about this: as soon as you walk into one
of these places, you should know that you've entered an adult playground, a fucking daycare for lazy, fat people — not a facility where people come to work hard on their bodies.
Strength training is different from running or
other types
of cardio.
But for maximum fat loss, I recommend four to seven days per week
of cardio or
other vigorous physical activity for 30 to 45 minutes (based on results) at a moderate pace.»
With that said, you could use any
other piece
of cardio equipment providing you can do those intervals
of high intensity followed by recovery at a lower intensity.
Listen, HIIT and
other types
of intense
cardio are great.
«If people are sedentary all day — and just work out for an hour every
other day — that might improve
cardio, heart health, bone strength and lower the risk

of strength coaches and strength - and HIIT - centric personal trainers online who are doing the confusing, I believe, by lumping 30 minutes
of running or
other cardio in with what they call, «bad for you» activities
The first edition
of my book about fat loss, Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle was originally published way back in 2002 and I recommended HIIT way back then — as well as regular
cardio, not one or the
other.
If it's once or twice a week, go with a full body routine because you need to maximise your workouts in the limited time you will be there.If you go 3 or more times a week, split your workouts because it will give your body time to recover while allowing you to train
other body parts.If you split your routines and don't workout enough, you might only be working part
of your body once a week and that's not enough to see gains.Full body workouts are great for building functional strength, mimicking real life movements and having a
cardio workout at the same time.
Cardio (short for «cardiovascular training») is a form
of aerobic exercise (as opposed to anaerobic,) and includes both «steady - state» activities — think running, biking or swimming at a steady pace — and high - intensity activity like HIIT training or Tabata workouts (which can ALSO be done while you're running, biking or swimming, but also in
other ways which I'll talk more in a bit...).
Compared to
other types
of cardio, HIIT is anabolic and can actually help you gain some muscle.
Avoid over exerting yourself except during training and cut back / out on
cardio and
other activities that will rob you
of valuable recovery resources best directed towards muscle growth.

Take 1 serving
of each
of those nutrients that I just mentioned to make up each meal, drink plenty
of water (0.66 times your body weight in ounces), weight train with weights 3 times a week (like Mon / Wed / Fri), do
cardio the
other 3 times (Tue, Thur, Sat) and voila, you will lose weight.
Cardio is not the only culprit here either; weight training or any
other form
of exercise will also have appetite - stimulating effects as well.
It could be from a number
of different reasons — you could be eating too much food or too little or the wrong types
of food for your body type, you need to be doing a combination
of both
cardio and strength training to get good results, you need to be consistent, plus
other things like getting enough rest, sleep, reducing your stress and ensuring your hormones are working properly.
