Irish Wolfhounds need more space and exercise than
some of the other giant breeds and generally do not thrive in small spaces.
I have never seen one personally but I think they are a great, lesser - known large breed to consider, especially if you do not wish to own a dog that needs extensive rough play the way that many
of the other giant breeds seem to.
Like many
of the other giant breeds, the greater Swiss mountain dog has a deep chest which unfortunately leaves it prone to bloating.
